About what happened when non-sportscasters questioned Darwin’s followers.

Look, it has just become a cult, okay? Half the people blathering for Darwin wouldn’t know why he is probably wrong (Hint: His idea about how information can be created is wrong. If you think this is all about Noah’s Ark, please shut up. Oh wait, no. Don’t. You should fit in just fine at a post-Christian U. Lots of answers now, just no questions.)

Recalling the Wannsee Conference - Michael Egnor - January 24, 2015 Excerpt: Last week marked the 73rd anniversary of the Wannsee Conference, which was the meeting in 1942 held in a villa in a Berlin suburb where Nazi officials planned the Final Solution. The SS representative at the meeting was General Reinhard Heydrich, one of Himmler's top deputies. Although genocide was already underway in the occupied portions of the Soviet Union and in Serbia, Nazi officials discussed the need for a more comprehensive program to exterminate European Jews. From the article published by the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum: Heydrich announced that "during the course of the Final Solution, the Jews will be deployed under appropriate supervision at a suitable form of labor deployment in the East. In large labor columns, separated by gender, able-bodied Jews will be brought to those regions to build roads, whereby a large number will doubtlessly be lost through natural reduction. Any final remnant that survives will doubtless consist of the elements most capable of resistance. They must be dealt with appropriately, since, representing the fruit of natural selection, they are to be regarded as the core of a new Jewish revival." Despite the evidence that Darwinism profoundly contributed to informing Nazism, Darwinists persist in denying the documented links between the Darwinian understanding of nature and man and the Nazi policies to take control of natural selection and breed a master race along explicitly Darwinian lines. SS General Heydrich was a key figure in the planning of the Holocaust, and was the leading voice at the Wannsee Conference. The argument that Darwinists have is not with modern critics of Darwinian anthropology, but with the Nazis themselves, who were clear about the Darwinian motivations for their policies. http://www.evolutionnews.org/2015/01/recalling_the_w092991.htmlbornagain77

They should really remove YouTube comments for this video. There's just no point with a subject like this.Berceuse

Thanks News for the link, I have never seen it in entirety. I also found it compelling and agree with Moose Dr @ 5. We really do need a "like" button, you can get a plugin for wordpress that does it. CheersCross

I was mistaken, sorry. But at least it's the #1 grossing film on the ID/Evolution controversy.Silver Asiatic

"But amazingly, the film is the second biggest grossing documentary ever." My sources (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/genres/chart/?id=documentary.htm) place it at 23rd. 23rd ain't bad, but its hardly second. I just completed watching the youtube posting. I found the movie compelling. I particularly liked the discussion on origin of life. I also found the hitler parallel to be justified. I do believe that the natural end of darwinism is feudalism, and a moral code that we currently do not recognize.Moose Dr

I have it on DVD. I wish there had been more scientific and less emotional / guilt by association arguments.DesignDetectiveDave

I think it was a huge challenge and risk to make a documentary for theatrical release on this topic. They had to make it entertaining and engaging enough for the general public and non-specialists. The Nazi angle brought some drama and an unquestioned bad guy into the script - secular audiences with no Darwinian agenda could relate to it. I think the film had to strain to get the academic-persecution story going -- and it was difficult to get the humor that Ben Stein would have really been comfortable with. But amazingly, the film is the second biggest grossing documentary ever. It made a small profit. The producers were wildly optimistic on its success potential, but I think they did extremely well none the less. The fact that it is not a Christian-based film is very important also. I would have liked more hard science but that would have killed it at the box office.Silver Asiatic

Noremacam, that was my impression too, sort of. But I think they wanted that ON the record. I myself have seen garbage floating in the U.S. ed system comparing Darwin to Lincoln in terms of "freeing" people. Probably off line now, so you are free not to believe me. Finally, one wants something correct on the record. How about: Darwin freed no one. Lincoln freed lots of people. Darwinists wreck the careers of scientists (never mind sportscasters) who question their theory. But first one must perhaps establish why that might matter to busy people.News

I was a bit disappointed in the movie, though grateful for the exposure. In retrospect, they should've removed darwinism's influence on nazism and instead focused more on the scientific merits of intelligent design. I think that would have made a more compelling argument.Noremacam
