That’s what he was complaining about. He never said Dawkins didn’t have the right to say those things. But it wasn’t an interview , it was a hatefest.
He got nothing from the BBC but bumf in response (surprise, surprise).
Then the story grew legs. A member of Parliament and former cabinet minister has responded:
Thanks for this, and for your previous email copying to me your complaint. I didn’t see the interview in question, but I agree with you that (whatever the merits or otherwise of the argument) the interjection of personal views and dismissive comments would be an intrusive deviation from proper standards of impartiality.
I shall take up your concerns with the Culture Secretary as requested, and also with the Director General as Editor-in-Chief of the BBC.
