Sad to say, the imperialist reactionaries against ID (e.g., ACLU and NCSE) have gotten their message out in China better than we have. See the recent report in the People’s Daily Online: http://english.people.com.cn/200509/24/eng20050924_210621.html.

Well, I don’t care about the need of Darwin to sustain Marxism. However it is completely clear to me that ID promoters and leading theorists should take part in extending ID theory farther than the developed Western countries to Africa, Asia and Latin America. Gaining territory before “imperialist reactionaries against ID” do, will foster the theory and will avoid such things like that in China. One way to do it can be to arrange annual meetings to discuss progresses made by the theory year by year and preferably in places where ID is not to much known outside of USA. China would be a good place to start. To charged Marxism and in particular in relation to China about how misinformation concerning to ID arrived to China before the correct information did it is a great nonsense. It’s going to happen in all countries: with time information about ID is going to reach every corner of the world. If it is the right information, it is in hands of ID community. We cannot ask and we cannot wait that imperialist reactionaries do this for us.Daniel512

If one looks at the Lysenko affair, in which evolutionary biologists and geneticists were sent to the Gulag for teaching neo-darwinism, I would doubt Applied Communism and Darwin's biological theories go well together. Lysenkos power grab was based on the premise that genetics and evolution ran contrary to Marx's dielectic materialism. Though with China's regular crackdown's on religious expression, it is no surprise the state run media would be less then sympathetic to a program that is charged with "bringing religion straight into the science classroom."doran

russ Would that make theistic evolutionists the equivalent of Lenin’s “useful idiots”, or is that being too harsh? Evolutionism is the tin foil hat atheists wear to keep God out of their brain waves. Unfortunately many Christians see the tin foil hats and assume they are part of the dress code.bevets
