Darwin Central Advocates Crime – Make a Pirate Copy of Expelled

Comment written by a moderator of Darwin Central:

Someone desparately need to blog an exclusive pirated copy of Ben Stein’s Expelled.

What amazes me is not only the hatred and vitriol spewed by the Darwinist faithful, but the notion that they think we're arrogant (as noted in the quote posted by GodsiPod). We're arrogant? For suggesting that Darwinian evolution doesn't account for the origin of life? Seriously, if the best the Darwinian faithful can do is spout ad hominem attacks to defend their theory, then their theory is in a lot of trouble. Barb
FTK - If I can amend Apollos' post: "The movie will not have an impact, except on the uneducated, and it's not going to make any differene long-term", except to make IDers even more liable to ridicule, so have fun at your kid's party! Glarson24
Don't they see that Expelled is about a mindset that goes crazy regarding ID and that they are proving their point when they do this sort of thing? geoffrobinson
It might be worth telling the Darwinists now that it would be equally bad of them to use any videos which they "found on the internet and thought was really interesting" and which just so happens to turn out to be someone else's copyrighted material. Just to ensure they don't have a lame excuse to fall back on. Reg
FtK, the movie will have an impact and make a difference. What you're seeing is like a vampire's violent reaction to sunlight. However this film is a "knocking" event, and it will have an impact, though not necessarily one that's easily assessed from the outset.
(Revelation 3:20) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
I believe knocks are being answered even as I type this. Be encouraged! Apollos
Just wow. The venom that I've seen aimed at this movie makes me really, *really* sad. So much so that I'm having a hard time enjoying my son's birthday party today. It's staggering to observe how people view these issues. What seems so abundantly clear to one person is a muddled mess to another. Sigh... FtK
Over at Digg, they are nearly all suggesting people pirate it. Or not bother to watch it at all. Who's ignorant? Here's one comment: "This movie is basically what happens if you don't study in school, believe in god and hence become so simultaneously retarded and arrogant that you metaphorically vomit over intelligent people with your creationist bullshit, giving a rat's ass to truth." Lots more here: http://digg.com/general_sciences/NYT_calls_EXPELLED_a_sleazy_documentary Gods iPod
From that forum's registration rules: "You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “Darwin Central” is hosted or International Law." I think making and distributing a pirated copy of a movie would fall under the "may violate any laws" bit. jinxmchue
Hey, lets make a pirated copy of Expelled, but woe be to Expelled for using a bar or two of "Imagine"! After all, the copyright of the "good guys" should be respected, but not the copyright of the "bad guys". bFast
tacens clamo (12:30pm) even recognizes that it is a crime:
Oh, us criminals - we are exposed
