When you repair a broken pipe, shattered window or cracked sidewalk, you first remove the broken pieces and establish a starting point. Likewise when a break occurs in DNA, the automatic repair machines must first remove the broken, dangling molecules and establish a starting point. It is another fantastic capability of the cell’s DNA repair kit.  Read more

"In order to proofread you have to know what you are reading and in order to correct any errors you first have to identify, ie know, the error and also know how to correct it." This is an absolutely critical point. I've long been astounded at the fact that there is any error correction, given what is required. Some types of error correction are simpler than others, but overall it is another great example of IC and SCI.Eric Anderson

Gem of a quote here Dr, Hunter;
Indeed, natural selection has produced a modern creation narrative—the theory of evolution—which is as hardy as any virus. But the narrative does not comport with reality.
And of course, the very thing that gets 'naturally selected' by neo-Darwinists, so that their beloved theory can continue to survive, is any imagined excuse they can dream up, so as to avoid facing the 'horror' that a Theistic worldview might entail.bornagain77

Just last week I blogged- Back to the positive evidence for Intelligent Design: It isn't so much that cells cannot live without proofreading and error-correction, rather it is that proof-reading and error correction are evidence for Intelligent Design for the simple reason is that it takes knowledge to proofread and knowledge to correct any errors. In order to proofread you have to know what you are reading and in order to correct any errors you first have to identify, ie know, the error and also know how to correct it. This also leads us back to cause and effect relationships. In accordance with uniformitarianism only agencies are capable of such a thing. See also DNA RepairJoseph
