As in, why you are undergoing Wiki withdrawal, and some politicians are reconsidering (ahem) their support … and Facebook’s CEO speaks out against SOPA …
And remembering that Steve Jobs died recently …
Apple’s immortal 1984 ad:

I guess this is one issue which will unite both sides on this forum.
Mark:
I agree: being on the same side as you is quite an emotion 🙂
As neither of us are US voters I fear it makes little difference.
Some of us got here by other means. The “police the Internet” thing struck early in Canada. It’s fair to say that the do-gooders involved had absolutely no idea what would happen.
Stuff like:
– unvisited racist Web site suddenly becomes big news – everybody learns about racisms they would never have heard of if the thing had been let to wither away in its own ignominy. We hope it won’t matter, but it was better not done.
– radical political groups began to manipulate the unfair laws in order to promote not only their own interests but causes that violate constitutional rights.
Finally, there has been a huge groundswell of “Enough!”
Basically, governments just don’t know enough about the Internet yet to be big players, and they have sure demonstrated that.
