purple space alien

From commentator Dennis Prager, reporting on a science conference,

The fact that atheists have resorted to the multiverse argument constitutes a tacit admission that they have lost the argument about design in this universe. The evidence in this universe for design — or, if you will, the fine-tuning that cannot be explained by chance or by “enough time” — is so compelling that the only way around it is to suggest that our universe is only one of an infinite number of universes.

Well, Dennis, me hearty, it is worse than that.

I can’t begin to tell you all the crackpot-ology I’ve had to wade through that is actually considered science these days, in support not only of the supposed multiverse but of the presence of space aliens. Here are three examples:

The space aliens are hiding from us in order to survive. Or there is not enough time for Darwinian evolution to cause them to evolve. Or they are hiding in junk DNA.

The only view not on the menu is that the aliens don’t appear because they don’t exist.

Look, I don’t care if people want to believe this stuff, and embrace the outcomes. Like Stephen Jay Gould, I am a “heart libertarian.” But, … why is all this
“science” but whatever the Mark of the Beast is supposed to be is “religion”?

Which obsession is a better contender for the Tinfoil Hat Award? Sometimes known as the Get a Life Award.
