As we have seen before the brain has more switches than all the computers and routers and Internet connections on Earth. That is not all the brains on Earth, nor all human brains, but merely a single brain of a single human. With over 100 billion nerve cells, or neurons, and a quadrillion synapses, or connections, it is, as one researcher described, “truly awesome.” Researchers have found that the brain’s complexity is beyond anything they’d imagined, or as one evolutionist admitted, almost to the point of being “beyond belief.” Amidst all these nerve cells and connections, a key question is: “Exactly which nerve cells do all these connections link together?” These connections should reveal a great deal about how the brain works, for while a single nerve cell may be enormously complex, it is in the massive networking of these many neurons that the brain’s fantastic processing and cognitive powers are likely to emerge. Many years I worked with brilliant engineers who consulted the potential customers, designed the systems we developed, wrote the tech specifications and basically directed my work as a programmer. Long before I and my programming colleagues started to write the code for the programs, the main engineers/analysts already visualized in their own minds the final product of our work. Their visualized concept was passed on to us the programmers through a series of documents, technical meetings, conference calls. The programmers passed that information, in a different format, to the computer. Eventually, after a number of iterations, and many testing phases, the software product was ready to be released to the users. Then came delivery, implementation, support, bug fixing, etc. Now, all that looks like piece of cake when compared to the amazing processes that take place during development from zygote to birth. Am I supposed to accept that the development process came up as result of unguided processes? Please, don't tell that to my former bosses. I'm sure they won't like it. Please, let's be more respectful to the software development professionals and the work they do.Dionisio

The title of the hit song 'Respect' by Aretha Franklin (1967) just came up to my mind. Just trying to imagine the process that takes place during human development, where a single cell (zygote) eventually becomes a human being (including the super complex brain), through a marvelous choreography and orchestration that has no parallel in anything else, and then I read that all that ballet came up as result of an unguided process? After working many years on software development for engineering apps, I request more respect for the work done in the software development industry. Implying that such a complex system as the human brain could arise as result of unguided processes, is an act of enormous disrespect to the software development community around the world. Software developers (engineers, analysts, programmers) work hard, applying their refined skills and experience, in order to create complex systems that, nevertheless, don't compare even slightly to the neurological systems.Dionisio

To add more support to this view that ‘memory/information’ is not stored in the material brain but on a higher 'spiritual' level, one of the most common features of extremely deep near death experiences is the ‘life review’ of a person where every minute detail of a person’s life is reviewed in the presence of God:

Thus the evidence strongly supports the 'common sense' conclusion that humans are not Turing Machines!

It is interesting to note that even though, as was shown in the Godel-Turing video, Alan Turing believed humans were merely machines, much like the computers he had envisioned, Turing failed to realize that his entire idea for computers came to him suddenly, 'in a vision' as he put it, thus confirming Godel's contention that humans had access to the 'divine spark of intuition'. A divine spark which enables humans to transcend the limits he, and Godel, had found in the incompleteness theorem for computers, mathematics, and even for all of material reality in general (Jaki). Of related note, the following paper gives the secret away for defeating the infamous ‘Turing test’:

I consider the preceding proof to be a pretty proof that the human mind is nor merely a machine. But there is another way to show that the human mind is not a machine. This analogy with the computer. even if a single computer had more gears then a single human brain it still would not be a thinking machine. therefore all these gears in the brain are irrelevant to being a thinking being. So why not just presume these gears are merely conduits from the soul affecting the memory affecting the whole body. Why not just make us a giant memory or rather computer and then add in the soul messed to it.?Robert Byers

In other words, if my conscious choices really are just merely the result of whatever state the material particles in my brain happen to be in in the past (deterministic) how in blue blazes are my choices instantaneously effecting the state of material particles into the past?,,, These experiments from quantum mechanics are simply impossible on a reductive materialism (determinism) view of reality! In other words, if you don't like that the cat might be dead (nucleus pointing down), you back off the strength of your measurement until you get a reading telling you that the cat might be more alive than dead (nucleus pointing up) and then once you get that reading you increase the strength of the measurement, as long as the measurement continues to give you the desired more alive than dead state, until you finally have complete knowledge that the cat is fully alive (nucleus pointing up). The preceding experiment obviously is another strong confirmation of free will's axiomatic position within quantum mechanics. Here are a few more notes along that line:

In spite of the fact that Darwinists should stop dead in their tracks right there and do a major reevaluation of their materialistic theory, it is interesting to point out that Darwinists like to play games and hide their materialistic presuppositions in all that 'truly awesome' complexity and pretend that consciousness can somehow emerge from something that has "more switches than all the computers and routers and Internet connections on Earth". And it has been a bit of a challenge for researchers to flush out Darwinian presuppositions from their hiding place. Here are a few notes in regards to that line of attack:

Hopefully as you can see, even though theists have some pretty strong evidence that consciousness and free will are not 'emergent properties' of the brain, I've found that the best way to prove that consciousness and free will are not 'emergent properties' of the brain is to go to the base of reality itself with quantum mechanics. Basically the argument for God from consciousness from quantum mechanics can now be framed like this:
1. Consciousness either preceded all of material reality or is a 'epi-phenomena' of material reality. 2. If consciousness is a 'epi-phenomena' of material reality then consciousness will be found to have no special position within material reality. Whereas conversely, if consciousness precedes material reality then consciousness will be found to have a special position within material reality. 3. Consciousness is found to have a special, even central, position within material reality. 4. Therefore, consciousness is found to precede material reality. If he decides to measure his two photons in a way such that they are forced to be in an entangled state, then also Alice's and Bob's photon pair becomes entangled.
