Transhumanism is a curious blip…

… in a science and technology culture in which it is otherwise axiomatic that humans are merely evolved animals.

So, can we cheat death by uploading ourselves as virtual AI entities?

Cheating death is a serious goal of some transhumanists. Futurist Ray Kurzweil(now a Google innovator) calls such a digital fate the Singularity, as in his book, The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology. Published in 2006, it is still in the top ten in artificial intelligence and biotechnology. In 2017, he announced,

2029 is the consistent date I have predicted for when an AI will pass a valid Turing test and therefore achieve human levels of intelligence. I have set the date 2045 for the ‘Singularity’ which is when we will multiply our effective intelligence a billion fold by merging with the intelligence we have created.

It sounds rather like avoiding death by becoming something that isn’t actually alive. Some thoughts to consider before we hit the Enter key… 😉 More.

Also at Mind Matters Today: Robot priests: And you thought “robotic religion” was just a pointed criticism… ? You know, rote prayers, mindless gestures… Is that the way of the future for some?

and

GIGO alert: AI can be racist and sexist, researchers complain. Dunno. Maybe it was listening to the wrong instructions back when it was just a tiny bit?

There is probably not going to be a reasonable minute when we rise as transshipment. Or maybe advancements will turn out to be more meddlesome and incorporate flawlessly with the human body. do my essay UK onlinestephenhawking

Frankly speaking, the very idea seems for now very utopia like for me, but, on the other hand, actuality we have enough assets to achieve these things. We shouldn't stop hereditary research in light of the fact that there is a societal issue in the nation. There will dependably be such issues in the nation, since social orders and individuals that make them up are not great. Some will still put forward judgments, yet we don't stop mechanical advance as a result of it. My second point is that huge numbers of the issues over transhumanism by Alex Pearlman, for example and her articles on the web page(women's regenerative access, police fierceness, all inclusive human services) goes from liberal forthcoming. Not every person is liberal, not every person trusts the perspectives that the author needs them to accept. Transhumanism is tolerating of every extraordinary gathering and political philosophies since it pretty much is isolated from these issues. In the event that Transhumanism acknowledged these situation as focal, we should call ourselves democrats. We would fall into a similar polarity that each other political gathering battles from, and we ought not let transhumanism tumble down this course.timbetancourt

The religion is strong with transhumanists. In order to upload himself or herself to a computer, a transhumanist must commit murder by killing the original. But if one has two versions of oneself lying around, which one is the true self? And why make just one virtual copy? IMO, once the original body is dead, you're all dead. The virtual copy will lack an essential component, a spirit. Without it, there is no consciousness. But the transhumanist does not believe people have spirits, you say? Too bad. Dead is dead. :-DFourFaces
