Now that I think about it I also recall seeing Burke's "Connections" videos on PBS.DaveScot

Dave, If you can, get the original videos from the late 1970's. The technology is obviously dated (pre personal computer and internet revolution) but the presentation is extremely good for that time period and it more of a history than anything. It is fast paced to say the least. His global warming videos are apparently nearly 10 years old and he is supposedly working on a new Connections book on America due out July 4th, 2007. In all honesty I cannot find anything recent he has said on global warming.jerry

I remember Burke from his monthly column "Connections" in Scientific American. I'm saddened to hear he's become a shill for the global warming hoax.DaveScot

One of the interesting things about the Global Warming crusade is the lack of integrity of many of its proponents. One is James Burke. Burke produced a fantastic series in the late 70's called Connections. If anyone has not seen it, get it from your library and enjoy it (Make sure you get the first series as he produced two more that were not as good). A very fascinating series about science and technology in general. Riveting and non-stop science. In one of the episodes Burke talks about the global warming that took place in the period of 1000-1250 and how they were growing wine grapes in Northern England and then the cold age of the 1300's ended it all. Others have described this warming period as one of the greatest economic expansion in the history of mankind as illustrated by the rise of the great cathedrals and large scale increases in farming output. This global warming is also mentioned in the first part of this video. James Burke is now one of the shills for the global warming conspiracy and has produced shows talking about its effects on the world from a perspective of 2050 looking back. I wonder if he remembers his Connections material. I am sure he does but like others on a pseudo religious crusade, it does not seem to affect him.jerry
