It seems to me that evolution is becoming more and more like a religon. The followers rely on faith. They have their "priests." They dogmatically stick with their beliefs even when presented with logical alternatives. They shun and/or dis anyone who dares to disagree with them. alaninnont

Any of these could be religion (or not, as religionists prefer). Religion does not insist on the special requirements of scientific propositions and proofs. pmob1
