by Fox/National Geographic, featuring Neil deGrasse Tyson:

Here’s a trailer from the 1980 version:

The cultural changes are revealing. Sagan’s Cosmos seems like “NASA. Meet New Age.” Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Cosmos, well, how would you characterize it?

I remember well watching Sagan's Cosmos many times. I was mesmerized by it in the same way as people can't help looking at a ugly multiple-car wreck with scattered bodies. The number of errors in Sagan's Cosmos were legion and now we have Cosmos version 2014 with, of all people, Tyson - a guy who is so blinded by his religion (Materialism) that I'm surprised he doesn't have a seeing-eye dog. Once again I won't be able to refrain from watching this horror show, this 'New Age' Cosmos with Sagan on steroids. Here's a 'bold' prediction: the errors in this Cosmos will also be too numerous to count.Jorge

If it has Neil Degrassi Tyson in it it must be a comedy series. His bad design argument can be debunked by a 5 year old child.wallstreeter43

Although I know of no reference to Christ ever commenting on scientific work, I do know that He said, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Thus I am certain that, were He among us today, Christ would encourage scientific research as modern man’s most noble striving to comprehend and admire His Father’s handiwork. The universe as revealed through scientific inquiry is the living witness that God has indeed been at work. — Wernher von Braun, rocket pioneer, 1976.bornagain77

From crevo we find this quote:
Producer of Cosmos 2.0 Brannon Braga (Star Trek) describes the series as, if not opposed to religion, at least one-up to it: “Science doesn’t have to be the opposite of religion in terms of its emotional value,” he said. “Science can move you like any other story. Science can be a visceral, emotional experience. Religion doesn’t own awe and mystery. Science does it better.”
Here is the translated quote:
“Science (i.e. atheistic materialism) doesn’t have to be the opposite of religion in terms of its emotional value,” he said. “Science (i.e. atheistic materialism) can move you like any other story. Science (i.e. atheistic materialism) can be a visceral, emotional experience. Religion doesn’t own awe and mystery. Science (i.e. atheistic materialism) does it better.” http://crev.info/2014/01/here-comes-cosmos-again/
Funny that atheistic materialism not only had nothing to do with the founding of modern science, but atheistic materialism has actually hampered the progress of science. Moreover, advances in quantum mechanics have now 'scientifically', with empirical evidence, falsified the philosophy of atheistic materialism as to ever being a coherent worldview in science. So I guess, since everything they will point to in the universe, in their documentary, owes its existence to God, then 'awe and mystery', as much as they may hate it, still belong exclusively to God.bornagain77
