James Lindsay, one of Peter Boghossian’s fellow hoaxers of the Woke folk, discusses the war on math in this podcast.

It’s a premiere, so maybe there’ll be more.

Background: Boghossian and his associates pulled a number of Sokal hoaxes on Woke academics by getting bizarre nonsense published in their journals, then revealing that it was never intended to make any sense.

The academic establishment reacted with rage, not at the ridiculous journals but at the hoaxers of course.

It’s possible that Lindsay started the war on math by pointing out that the Woke would refuse to accept that 2 + 2 + 4. And sure enough, they started to do just that.

Don’t forget Lindsay and co-hoaxer Helen Pluckrose’s new book, Cynical Theories. Treat yourself.

After watching a highly entertaining 90-minute debate between authors Adam Gopnik and Will Self on which dystopia are we living in -- George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four or Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, I was surprised that I'd forgotten that George Orwell actually used the 2 + 2 = 4 as an example of Winston's insanity! https://youtu.be/31CcclqEiZw?t=3836 So nowadays, two plus two does indeed equal five when the party says so. -QQuerius

I'm sure there must be a heated political interpretation of + and = as well as the numbers 2 and 4. Isn't this getting tiresome yet? -QQuerius

It's really not smart to stir up the hornets. They're stirred enough as it is. Historically, hornet-stirrers are often working FOR the hornets as Agents Provocateurs, so I'm highly suspicious of Lindsay's motives. Deepstate always runs both sides of a dispute. Some skeptics are real, some are Pied Pipers.polistra

I'd be interested to read a 5-page summary of Lindsay's theses (on the 2 + 2 = 4 issue), but I'm not willing to commit 90+ minutes to listen to his podcast. I skipped around a bit and much of what he says sounds reasonable, although he engages in too much motive mongering IMHO. Looking through his twitter, I get a strong whiff of e-celeb promoting his brand.daveS
