Starting this month. From Ross Logan at UK Mirror:

The Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) will search deep space in the hope of unlocking some of the universe’s deepest secrets

Is Earth finally about to make contact with extra terrestrial life?

That is one of the hopes for the world’s largest radio telescope, which will be switched on later this month.

The finishing touches have now been put to the Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST), in south west China’s Guizhou Province, with the enormous 1,650-foot-wide dish set become operational from September 25. More.

Good hunting! But one question that arises is, how do we know at what point we can come to a conclusion?

What a total waste of money!! As long as they don't use my tax dollars for it, I don't care how much time and money they spend. There might be some side benefits to the research, but I wouldn't want to be involved. I think they have dreams of becoming famous or something.tjguy

An originemologist once said: "We would not find any human species outside our solar system, unless the same environment like earth exists. " If a planet is like mars or pluto, finding an intelligent species is impossible.iParticle

Awstar at 1: We're in the midst of a big media meltdown. It wouldn't make the current legacy media news. You'd have to hear about it on Twitter or Facebook. Or Snapchat. ;)News

Won't it be ironic if through this telescope mankind will catch the first glimpse of the returning Christ, coming with His host of saints to take possession of the earth He purchased with His blood? I'll bet the viewers will be speechless. They probably won't even quibble as to whether He is truly alien or of earth.awstar
