Yes! It’s true. And don’t forget it, especially if you are making bequests! Baylor, supposedly a serious Christian U, tried to shut down science-based discussion of design in nature.

Marks won’t tell you, but O’Leary will. I offered him a tribute here. He has, it seems, rolled back into the game despite the own-side fire.

I watched the talk and, personally, I would not have described it as a talk on the nature of information. 0.02c Mung
BA 1 reference was very helpful for me to understand more about "halting oracles" and "busy beaver" numbers, which flummoxed me when I tried to read the BioComplexity article earlier. Thanks! PS I wish more scientists were as gracious & collegial as Chaitin. He really seems interested in finding truth, not just confirming his own perspective. Refreshing. anthropic
Why do the anti-IDists always go crazy when the word "information" is used? Why don't they realize tat they use information every day and that economies couldn't exist without it? Joe

Trinitarian academics hate academic freedom. That's why they build their own universities, where academic freedom is forbidden. JWTruthInLove
I got bored with this after 16 minutes. Does he actually define what he means by "information" in the remaining 13 minutes? He makes the point there are many definitions early on and then goes straight on to make many statements about information without, as far as I can see, saying which definition he is using. Denyse, If you want the clowns to take you seriously then you have to act like a clown. Enter Baylor, Ball St and every other alleged academic institute that disallows open discussions on the origins questions. What I don't understand is who, exactly, are they trying to impress? Joe
