Doubtless a new experience for you. From International Business Times:

Women affiliated with members of terror group Islamic State (Isis) have published a manifesto and guide to living as a militant Muslim female.

Education for women is okay as long as they stay at home, but

“It is considered legitimate for a girl to be married at the age of nine. Most pure girls will be married by 16 or 17, while they are still young and active. Young men will not be more than 20 years old in those glorious generations.”

The authors of the document also urged people to refrain from “exploring science”, aimed at “trying to uncover the secrets of nature”. The focus, rather, should be on the spread of Islam.

Could someone send a memo to Nesrine Malik, who protested Dawkins pointing out how few Muslims have won Nobels for science? Well of course, if people don’t want to practice, they won’t make the cut.

Someone might mention it to Jim Al-Khalili too.

Don’t blame us Westerners for this one. We say, by all means, study science. We just mustn’t believe everything we hear that someone in a lab coat says is “science.”

Just like we don’t believe everything someone in a business suit says about what’s a good investment.

You obviously have it wrong News. There's nothing here that would contradict Darwin. In fact, this is precisely what we would expect if the theory is true. Or not.Mung

I wonder how much of a hand the men of ISIS had in writing that document and in shaping that attitudes of their women. Personally, I am more encouraged by the way Kurdish women fight alongside their men, apparently as equals, as Peshmerga. Perhaps they should organize all-women units because I can think of nothing the ISIS men would find more humiliating than to be defeated by women in battle.Seversky

From the Darwinian perspective, there's really no problem at all here. Species do things.
The focus, rather, should be on the spread of Islam.
As above, the decision to explore science or spread Islam is a function of reproductive success and from the looks of it, Islam is doing pretty well in that area as it stands.Silver Asiatic
