As we saw here, here and hereRandy Moore and Sehoya Cotner, in their new bookArguing for Evolution: An Encyclopedia for Understanding Science, list altruism as an evidence for evolution, make the typical religious arguments that prove evolution, say that evolution predicts “There will be anatomical similarities among related organisms,” and begin the book with a bogus prediction claim. Semi OT:
Well, I posted the ‘ascendency’ movie too quickly. After referencing eugenics, which had caught my eye initially, they ten take a severe left turn into deep paranoia. Here are some better videos, that get the point across, that I was hoping to make, with integrity ;
The human capacity for altruism—unselfish giving—creates another problem for evolution. As one evolutionist noted: “Anything that has evolved by natural selection should be selfish.” (Richard Dawkins, “The Selfish Gene”)
And many humans are selfish, of course. But as he later acknowledged: “It is possible that yet another unique quality of man is a capacity for genuine, disinterested, true altruism.”
Another scientist added: “Altruism is built into us.” Only in humans is it practiced with an awareness of the cost, or sacrifice, that may be involved.
So it’s evidence for evolution. Except when it’s not. Right.

champignon, thanks for plugging the posts. I figure that a complaint by a dogmatic neo-Darwinist like you, for the ‘spam’ I listed, is worth more than a recommendation by a ID proponent, since reasonable people will wonder why is the dishonest dogmatic neo-Darwinist so upset? Here are a couple more videos for you to complain about, if you don’t mind giving me another helping hand! 🙂
