The Intelligent Design Debate and the Temptation of Scientism (Hardback) book cover By Erkki Vesa Rope Kojonen  Here: The controversy over Intelligent Design (ID) has now continued for over two decades, with no signs of ending. For its defenders, ID is revolutionary new science, and its opposition is merely ideological. For its critics, ID is both bad science and bad theology. But the polemical nature of the debate makes it difficult to understand the nature of the arguments on all sides. A balanced and deep analysis of a controversial debate, this volume argues that beliefs about the purposiveness or non-purposiveness of nature should not be based merely on science. Rather, the philosophical and theological nature of such questions should be openly acknowledged. More.

A note on the price (approx $150): This is common among academic publishers, due to small press runs, where the majority of copies are requested for academic libraries. If it succeeds, I shouldn't wonder there'll be a much cheaper popular edition The free chapter probably gives the main idea.News

Great. Its worthy of more and more coverage. its a revolution in our times on these subjects and it touches on religion. so very important to thinking mankind. They don't just say ID is bad science but NOT SCIENCE. Remember those robbed lawyers in those towns!! I think even greater books are to come to document this. There will be a conclusion in our times as to whether ID/YEC does revolutionize biological origin studies. there will be books about that and big authors too. By this time all must agree its a famous controversy in human history amongst the civilized and science savvy nations.Robert Byers
