Excerpt: In this work, we study the preservation of photon entanglement in polarization, created by spontaneous parametric down-conversion, after one entangled photon propagates through multiphoton-scattering brain tissue slices with different thickness. The Tangle-Entropy (TS) plots show the strong preservation of entanglement of photons propagating in brain tissue. By spatially filtering the ballistic scattering of an entangled photon, we find that its polarization entanglement is preserved and non-locally correlated with its twin in the TS plots. The degree of entanglement correlates better with structure and water content than with sample thickness. – Photon Entanglement Through Brain Tissue – 2016

There isn’t anything like such quantum entanglement in kidney tissue.
Quantum mechanic communication in cells: A paradigm shift in biology – uploaded Sept. 2020
Hat tip: Philip Cunningham
Well damn Stewart Hammeroff and sir roger penrose were right
Not sure what this proves. Waves, whether fancy branded “Quantum” waves or plain old generic waves, travel through organic stuff all the time. If the fancy branded wave does what the generator forced it to do while it’s inside the organic stuff, so what?
A quantum wave is an immaterial probability wave. It’s mathematical information, not matter or energy. How mathematical information instantly interacts with matter and energy is profoundly puzzling.
That observed brain operation involves quantum effects is also provocative with regard to the nature of consciousness.
-Q
Hmmmmm fancy waves vs generic. Not a clue what you are getting at with this comparison. Either a bad attempt at down playing the article or a really good attempt at showing a lack of understanding for it.
As to:
Per the PDF of the first article,
That entanglement can be maintained for a photon passing through brain tissue is, to put it mildly, unexpected under the materialistic assumptions of Darwinian evolution.
In showing why this is the case, first it is important to note that one of most formidable hurdles in building quantum computers is preventing a quantum system from decohering. That is to say, one of the most formidable hurdles in building a quantum computer is isolating photons from noise so as to prevent photons from becoming entangled with the environment rather than staying entangled with its original photon pair.
The second thing to realize is that Darwinists presupposed that there would be far more noise in biological systems than there is turning out to be.
As Bruce Alberts explained, “most of us viewed cells as containing a giant set of second-order reactions: molecules A and B were thought to diffuse freely, randomly colliding with each other to produce molecule AB”,,, “But instead of a cell dominated by randomly colliding individual protein molecules, we now know that nearly every major process in a cell is carried out by assemblies of 10 or more protein molecules.”
In spite of what Bruce Alberts said in 1998, Darwinists are still very much committed to the idea that there is far more noise in biological systems than there is turning out to be.
For instance, in 2013 Harvard BioVisions made a video entitled ‘Inner Life of the Cell: Protein Packing’.
In the 2013 video, as you can see, Harvard Biovisions tried to make the inner workings of the cell look as random, chaotic, and haphazard as possible.
Thus, according to Darwinian presuppositions, biological systems should be far too ‘wet and noisy’ to allow quantum entanglement to survive.
As the following article notes, “it is remarkable: a photon, the smallest physical entity with quantum properties of which light consists, is interacting with a biological system consisting of billions of cells, all in a warm and wet environment,”,, and the researched added, “The response that the photon generates survives all the way to the level of our awareness despite the ubiquitous background noise. Any man-made detector would need to be cooled and isolated from noise to behave the same way.”,,, “What we want to know next is how does a biological system achieve such sensitivity? How does it achieve this in the presence of noise?”
Thus for a entangled photon to survive being passed through brain tissue without loosing its entanglement because of the noise that is presupposed, by Darwinists, to be present in biological systems is, (or should be), as surprising for Darwinists as if you jumped into a swimming pool, swam to the other side of the pool, got out and found, to your astonishment, that you were completely dry even though you just swam through an entire pool.
Darwinists, with their reductive materialistic framework, and their belief that life is dominated by “random thermodynamic jostling” at the molecular level, simply have no clue how quantum mechanical principles can be possible in biological systems.
As Jim Al-Khalili states, “”,, Physicists and Chemists have had a long time to try and get use to it (Quantum Mechanics). Biologists, on the other hand have got off lightly in my view. ,,,
at the molecular level living organisms have a certain order. A structure to them that’s very different from the random thermodynamic jostling of atoms and molecules in inanimate matter of the same complexity. In fact, living matter seems to behave in its order and its structure just like inanimate cooled down to near absolute zero. Where quantum effects play a very important role.”
And indeed, quantum entanglement is now found to be ubiquitous within biological systems, i.e. within DNA, proteins, and in a wide range of important biomolecules,
As the following article states, “the possibility of finding even one (biomolecule) that is in the quantum critical state by accident is mind-bogglingly small and, to all intents and purposes, impossible.,, of the order of 10^-50 of possible small biomolecules and even less for proteins,”,,,
Moreover, it is also important to realize that the brain exhibits what can be termed to be ‘long range’ quantum coherence that is very different than the ‘short range’ quantum coherence that is displayed in DNA, proteins, and other important biomolecules.
As the following article states, “It’s certainly true that electrical activity in the brain is synchronised over distances that cannot be easily explained. Electrical signals travel too slowly to do this job, so something else must be at work.,,,”
In fact, at about the 16:30 minute mark of the following video, an interesting experiment on the sleeping brain is highlighted in which it is demonstrated that there is a fairly profound difference in the way the brain ‘shares information’ between different parts of the brain in its sleeping state compared to how the brain ‘shares information’ with widely separated parts of the brain in its waking state. i.e. In the sleeping state, the brain shares much less information with widely separated parts of the brain than the brain does during our waking state.
Of note, the preceding video, (after you sign up), can be watched in much better quality at this following site (season 2 episode 1)
https://www.sciencechannel.com/tv-shows/through-the-wormhole/
And here an article that goes with the preceding video
And here is another article that backs up the claim that long range quantum coherence in the brain is at play when we are conscious compared to when we are asleep or unconscious,
Thus for these researcher to find that “The brain tissue with various thickness shows a strong entanglement – high T and low S in comparison to kidney tissue and aged tissues.” is yet more evidence that the brain is capable of ‘long range’ quantum coherence instead of just ‘short range’ quantum coherence as is displayed by DNA, proteins, and other important biomolecules.
On top of that, what else is so devastating to Darwinian presuppositions with the finding pervasive quantum coherence and/or quantum entanglement within molecular biology, (and ‘long range quantum coherence in the brain), is that quantum coherence and/or quantum entanglement is a non-local, beyond space and time, effect that requires a beyond space and time cause in order to explain its existence. As the following paper entitled “Looking beyond space and time to cope with quantum theory” stated, “Our result gives weight to the idea that quantum correlations somehow arise from outside spacetime, in the sense that no story in space and time can describe them,”
Darwinists, with their reductive materialistic framework, simply have no beyond space and time cause that they can appeal so as to be able to explain the non-local quantum coherence and/or entanglement of the cell, (much less can they explain the ‘long range’ quantum coherence within the brain). Whereas Christians readily do have a beyond space and time cause that they can appeal to. As Colossians 1:17 states, “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
It is also important to realize that quantum information is conserved. As the following article states, In the classical world, information can be copied and deleted at will. In the quantum world, however, the conservation of quantum information means that information cannot be created nor destroyed.
The implication of finding ‘non-local’, beyond space and time, and ‘conserved’, quantum information in molecular biology on such a massive scale, in every important biomolecule in our bodies, is fairly, and pleasantly, obvious.
That pleasant implication, of course, being the fact that we now have very strong empirical evidence suggesting that we do indeed have an eternal soul that is capable of living beyond the death of our material bodies. As Stuart Hameroff states in the following article, the quantum information,,, isn’t destroyed. It can’t be destroyed.,,, it’s possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body. Perhaps indefinitely as a soul.”
Verse:
I love reading about this stuff but I have to admit that I don’t understand the mechanics involved or the implications of it. And, I dare say, nobody else here does either.
Mac McTavish,
The ‘implications’ of finding widespread quantum mechanics to be at play in molecular biology is, as I pointed out in post 7, fairly and pleasantly obvious. i.e. We are spiritual beings that live in physical bodies.
To repeat,
BA77
Jumping from quantum mechanics to “we are spiritual beings“ is a leap of faith.
MM claims that,,,
Ha Ha Ha. Actually, it is just following the evidence where it leads. Darwinists should try that sometime 🙂
But even if it were a ‘leap of faith as you claim’, it certainly would be a far less ‘leap of faith’ than the Darwinists’s ‘leap of faith’ that it takes for them to believe that our ‘beyond belief’ brain could possibly be the product of mindless, i.e. ‘accidental’, processes.
Quote:
BA77
I am not trying to defend Darwinists or materialists. I am just suggesting that your leap of faith with respect to quantum mechanics being strong evidence for spiritualism simply can’t be supported by QM in biology. Immaterial, which some aspects of QM appears to be, and spiritual are not the same thing.
BA77
It seems to me that this research doesn’t say anything about the preservation of quantum entangled state information present in living brain tissue (maybe microtubules) after the tissue dies and especially longer after death after the brain tissue organization irreversibly degrades to random organizations of decayed matter.
Very many studies have confirmed the decay and dissipation of quantum entanglement in non-living matter due to the inevitable degrading effects of noise. These degrading effects of noise surely must operate automatically in the material world in the matter/energy complex outside living beings after they die. Meaning that the immaterial immortal soul can’t consist of the information of quantum entanglement generated by living brain tissue.
I think an understanding of the nature of the soul through physics of any sort quantum or otherwise may not be possible, because the soul is a transcendental reality existentially beyond human understanding. That it is not humanly knowable at least through science.
Mac McTavish/8
I agree but, if you haven’t already seen them, there’s a number of short videos by a YouTuber called Arvin Ash that try to simplify these concepts for the layperson.
Bornagain77/11
I agree with MM. There is nothing that I’m aware of in quantum physics that entails an immortal soul, whatever that might be.
Darwin and others have. That is why we have the theory of evolution.
That is just an extended argument from incredulity. ‘I can’t imagine how the brain could possibly have come about through natural processes. Therefore, it didn’t.’
Doubter, as I pointed out, it is quantum information that is conserved. Which means that to cannot be created nor destroyed,,,
Moreover, the immaterial ‘information’ disappears from our material bodies upon death of our material bodies. As Stephen Talbott explained, ” Virtually the same collection of molecules exists in the canine cells during the moments immediately before and after death. But after the fateful transition no one will any longer think of genes as being regulated, nor will anyone refer to normal or proper chromosome functioning. No molecules will be said to guide other molecules to specific targets, and no molecules will be carrying signals, which is just as well because there will be no structures recognizing signals. Code, information, and communication, in their biological sense, will have disappeared from the scientist’s vocabulary.
,,, the question, rather, is why things don’t fall completely apart — as they do, in fact, at the moment of death. What power holds off that moment — precisely for a lifetime, and not a moment longer? ”
Since quantum information is conserved, and yet immaterial information disappears from our material bodies upon death of our material bodies, the question then becomes, “where does the quantum information/entanglement go upon death of the material body?” As Stuart Hameroff pointed out, “the quantum information,,, isn’t destroyed. It can’t be destroyed.,,, it’s possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body. Perhaps indefinitely as a soul.”,,,
As Stuart Hameroff further pointed out, it provides a mechanism to explain NDEs (NDEs which you brilliantly defended the validity of recently), i.e. “If a patient is resuscitated, revived, this quantum information can go back into the microtubules and the patient says, “I had a near death experience. I saw a white light. I saw a tunnel. I saw my dead relatives.,,”
That Sev and MM, (our resident Darwinian dogmatist and whatever MM claims to be in the moment so as to avoid admitting to any Theistic implications),, would both oppose it ought to give you another solid clue that pervasive QM in biology provides strong evidence for a immaterial component to our being. A immaterial component, i..e. a ‘soul’, that is capable of living past the death of our material bodies.
Sev
Thanks Sev, I will give them a look.

15 Seversky
Which is, as its name says, a scientific theory (subject to potential reviews/ modifications/ and even obsolescence). What it’s not: a metaphysics.
A multitude of experiments in quantum mechanics demonstrate that the fundamental nature of existence is information in the form of probability distributions. Each probability distribution is termed a wave function or psi. Astonishing as it seems, neither “solid matter” nor electromagnetic waves physically exist apart from the collapse of wave functions, which occurs only when they are observed or measured.
Many physicists find this deeply disturbing. Niels Bohr, who was awarded the 1922 Nobel Prize in physics for his application of quantum theory to atomic and molecular structure, expressed it this way:
Another Nobel Prize winner, Werner Heisenberg, wrote the following in his 1958 book, Physics and Philosophy:
Quantum theory is now widely accepted by physicists. For example, Vlatko Vedral is a professor of Physics at the University of Oxford who specializes in quantum theory and whose research papers are widely cited expresses the concept this way:
Quantum effects are now believed to be present in photosynthesis and are required for lasers and even for fusion in the sun. We live in a very different world than the materialists in Darwin’s day.
-Q
MM, I would recommend InspiringPhilosophies commentary on quantum physics for the lay person far before I would trust anything that Seversky recommends, for instance, his video debunking materialism, and therefore debunking Darwinian materialism, is excellent.
Bornagain77,
Thank you! The two videos are great introductions to the implications of quantum mechanics.
In the second video, the possible connections to quantum computing in the human thought and observation with respect to von Neumann chains is very interesting, especially in light of the OP.
-Q
Querius,
No problem, and besides his videos being very informative, you have to admit that, for YouTube, InspiringPhilosophy’s videos are also of excellent quality as far as the video graphics are concerned.
Regarding quantum entanglement information and the soul, there is still the issue of the Hard Problem of consciousness.
It is very questionable whether consciousness can possibly be in essence some sort of information. As seen via the formulation of the Hard Problem, the elements and characteristics of consciousness can’t be reduced to mere information, since for example there is no set of words or numbers or equations or logic propositions or quantitative/qualitative descriptions (whether of physical parameters like velocity, mass, energy, etc. or of anything else) that can possibly amount to being the essence of subjectivity – the inner experiential quality of being what it is like to be a sentient being. The elements of information and the elements of consciousness are in entirely different existential categories.
For this reason above all, I think consciousness, and therefore ultimately the soul, is a transcendental entity not understandable by man, at least scientifically.
I agree Doubter, yet there are some aspects of immaterial mind, besides ‘the hard problem’, that do lend themselves to physical and/or scientific examination:
Doubter,
Understood, but the stunning implication from quantum mechanics is that what we *think* of material reality is, in fact, transcendental! And the conscious observation of information that seems to control material reality (by collapsing the wave function) seems to be, in fact, *actual* reality!
This is extremely hard to accept, but the scientific evidence has held up despite decades of challenges. Look up “quantum erasure” for example. Or the “quantum zeno” effect.
Mind blowing!
-Q
Querius mentioned the “quantum zeno” effect.
An old entry in wikipedia described the Quantum Zeno effect as such, “an unstable particle, if observed continuously, will never decay.”
Likewise, the present day entry on wikipedia about the Quantum Zeno effect also provocatively states that “a system can’t change while you are watching it”
Atheistic materialists have tried to get around the Quantum Zeno effect by postulating that interactions with the environment (i.e. decoherence) are sufficient to explain the Quantum Zeno effect.
Yet, the following interaction-free measurement of the Quantum Zeno effect demonstrated that the presence of the Quantum Zeno effect can be detected without interacting with a single atom.
In short, the quantum zeno effect, regardless of how atheistic materialists may feel about it, is experimentally shown to be a real effect that is not reducible to any possible materialistic explanation. And thus the original wikipedia statement of, “an unstable particle, if observed continuously, will never decay”, stands as being a true statement.
Moreover, on top of the Quantum Zeno effect, (i.e. a unstable particle not decaying if it is continuously observed), in quantum information theory it is found that, “an object does not have a certain amount of entropy per se, instead an object’s entropy is always dependent on the observer.”
In regards to an object’s entropy being dependent on the observer, in the following 2010 experimental realization of Maxwell’s demon thought experiment, (a thought experiment that was first formulated in the late 1800’s), it was demonstrated that knowledge of a particle’s location and/or position converts information into energy.
Likewise, the following 2017 article states: James Clerk Maxwell (said), “The idea of dissipation of energy depends on the extent of our knowledge.”,,,
quantum information theory,,, describes the spread of information through quantum systems.,,,
Fifteen years ago, “we thought of entropy as a property of a thermodynamic system,” he said. “Now in (quantum) information theory, we wouldn’t say entropy is a property of a system, but a property of an observer who describes a system.”,,,
These developments go to the heart of the ID vs. Evolution debate and directly falsify, number 1, Darwinian claims that immaterial information is merely ’emergent’ from some material basis.,,,
That is to say, immaterial information is now empirically shown to be its own distinct physical entity that, although it can interact in a ‘top down’ manner with matter and energy, is, none-the-less, completely separate from matter and energy.
Moreover, this distinct physical entity of immaterial information is, via experimental realization of the Maxwell’s demon thought experiment, shown to be a product of the immaterial mind that has knowledge of a system. To repeat, “Now in (quantum) information theory, we wouldn’t say entropy is a property of a system, but a property of an observer who describes a system.”,,,
The reason why I am very impressed with the preceding experiments demonstrating that “entropy is a property of a system, but a property of an observer who describes a system” is because entropy is very foundational in our scientific descriptions of the world.
As the following article states, “Entropy explains time; it explains every possible action in the universe;,,”,, “Even gravity,,,, can be expressed as a consequence of the law of entropy.,,,”
On top of the fact that “(Entropy) explains time; it explains every possible action in the universe”, entropy is also, by a very wide margin, the most finely tuned of the initial conditions of the Big Bang. Finely tuned to an almost incomprehensible degree of precision, 1 part in 10 to the 10 to the 123rd power. As Roger Penrose himself stated that, “This now tells us how precise the Creator’s aim must have been: namely to an accuracy of one part in 10^10^123.”
In the following video, Dr, Bruce Gordon touches upon just how enormous that number truly is. Dr. Gordon states, “you would need a hundred million, trillion, trillion, trillion, universes our size, with a zero on every proton and neutron in all of those universes just to write out this number. That is how fine tuned the initial entropy of our universe is.”
In fact, entropy is also the primary reason why our own material, temporal, bodies grow old and eventually die in this universe,,,
And yet, to repeat the last sentence from the quantum information paper, “we wouldn’t say entropy is a property of a system, but a property of an observer who describes a system.”
That statement is just fascinating! Why in blue blazes should the finely tuned entropic actions of the universe, entropic actions which also happen to explain time itself, even care if I am consciously observing them, and/or describing them, unless ‘the immaterial mind really is more foundational to reality than the finely tuned 1 in 10^10^123 entropy of the universe is?
To state the glaringly obvious implication, this finding of entropy being “a property of an observer who describes a system” is very friendly to a Mind First, and/or to a Theistic view of reality.
For instance Romans chapter 8: verses 20 and 21 itself states, “For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.”
Moreover, although Darwinists try to play off entropy, (i.e. the universal tendency of things to decay), as not being that big of a problem for evolution, entropy is, (as Granville Sewell, Brian Miller, John Sanford, and Michael Behe, have all shown), a far bigger, (elephant in the living room), problem for Darwinists than they are willing to let on.
In further elucidating how entropy and life are related, it is important to realize that, when looking at life from the thermodynamic perspective, there is found to be far more information in life than just the sequential information that is encoded on the DNA.
For example, the information that is found to be in a simple one cell bacterium, when working from the thermodynamic perspective, is found to be on the order 10 to the 12 bits,,,
,,, Which is the equivalent of 100 million pages of Encyclopedia Britannica. ‘In comparison,,, the largest libraries in the world,, have about 10 million volumes or 10^12 bits.”
Thus since Bacterial cells are about 10 times smaller than most plant and animal cells.
And since there are conservatively estimated to be around 30 trillion cells in the average human body,
Then that gives us a rough ballpark estimate of around 300 trillion times 100 million pages of Encyclopedia Britannica. Or about 300 trillion times the information content contained within the books of the largest libraries in the world.
Needless to say, that is a massive amount of information.
As the following article states, the information to build a human infant, atom by atom, would take up the equivalent of enough thumb drives to fill the Titanic, multiplied by 2,000.
Darwinists, contrary to what they may claim, simply have no clue how a developing embryo achieves is basic biological form. As the following recent article stated, “At present, the problem of biological form remains unsolved.”
Moreover, this failure of the reductive materialistic explanations of Darwinian evolution to explain how any organism might achieve its basic biological form occurs at a very low level. Much lower than DNA itself.
In the following article entitled ‘Quantum physics problem proved unsolvable: Gödel and Turing enter quantum physics’, which studied the derivation of macroscopic properties from a complete microscopic description, the researchers remarked that even a perfect and complete description of the microscopic properties of a material is not enough to predict its macroscopic behaviour.,,, The researchers further commented that their findings “challenge the reductionists’ point of view, as the insurmountable difficulty lies precisely in the derivation of macroscopic properties from a microscopic description.”
In short, Darwinian evolution, since it is predicated on the premise of reductive materialism, will NEVER have an adequate explanation for how any developing embryo achieves its basic ‘biological form’, and Darwinian evolution will therefore always be a ‘incomplete’ description for life.
In fact, (as has hopefully been made clear now by the experimental realization of the Maxwell demon thought experiment), in order to have a ‘complete’ explanation for life, (and how the massive amount of ‘thermodynamic information’ can possibly be coming into a developing embryo), it is necessary to invoke the ‘top down’ causation of a immaterial mind rather than just the ‘bottom up’ explanations of reductive materialism.
In short, in order to give an adequate explanation for embryological development, and how this massive amount of ‘thermodynamic information’ can possibly be coming into a developing embryo, it is necessary to invoke the ‘top down’ causation of the Mind of God rather than just invoking the ‘bottom up’ explanations of reductive materialism:

Quantum biology is where physics meets biology. Both classical physics and quantum mechanics may be operational in cell communication. Each living cell “talks” with other cells with incredible precision and accuracy to maintain synchrony, unity of purpose, and health. Each cell may be envisioned as communicating intelligence. The vehicle for cell signaling and passing information is either chemical reaction, electromagnetic wave or by quantum transfer, or all of the above. Data communication of unbelievable complexity occurs within each cell millions of times a second and among nearby cells and cells at a distance.
1. The more sophisticated and fast a Information transmission
systems is, the more intelligence is required to project and
implement it .
2. Light-fidelity, or Li-Fi, is a 5th generation cutting edge technology,
the fastest information transmission system so far invented by man.
3. Life uses not only light, but quantum entanglement to transmit
information, which occurs basically instantly.
4. It is logical, therefore, to infer a super intelligent agency created
lifes awesome high-speed internet on a molecular level.

Elshamah,
This information is absolutely amazing!
I watched the presentation in the first link, Quantum mechanic communication in cells: A paradigm shift in biology. I didn’t know about biophoton/soliton intracellular communication, particularly the involvement of “junk DNA. Also, the initial experiments with quantum entanglement in brain tissue are fascinating. As far as I understood, the code involved in transmitting information with biophotons is unknown.
Finally, the admittedly speculative foray into quantum bioholography as a method of storing and retrieving information was also very interesting.
Thank you for sharing the information.

the code of biophotons is unknown, as is basically of all epigenetic codes. And there are many of them, to name:
The various codes in the cell
https://reasonandscience.catsboard.com/t2213-the-various-codes-in-the-cell
Biological cells depend not only on the physical matter but essentially on pre-programmed information and at least a twenty eight informational code and language systems which are used to host and store that information, in order to arrange and produce the complex cellular structures essential for life, and keep the life-essential functions, that is the reproduction, metabolism. food uptake, intracellular organizational arrangement, growth and development, permanence, change, and adaptation. Living cells host multiple kinds of informational code systems which are used to store complex instructional/specifying information ( CSI ). All code systems, languages, information, and translation systems can be tracked back to an intelligent origin. Evolution is not a driving force to explain the origin of cells and its language systems and programmed information content. Nor does physicochemical attraction explain the arrangement of nucleotides, molecules and amino acids resulting in the formation of complex molecular machines and intracellular molecular production lines. The only alternative to intelligence is random self-assembly by unguided lucky events. Random chaotic events are however too unspecific to explain the extremely organized, controlled, error check and repair mechanisms, and factory-like production systems that cells host. Therefore, biological cells, cell code systems and the coded information ( CSI ), have most probably a mind as the causal origin.
1. Regulation, governing, controlling, recruiting, interpretation, recognition, orchestrating, elaborating strategies, guiding, instruct are all tasks of the gene regulatory network.
2. Such activity can only be exercised if no intelligence is present if the correct actions were pre-programmed by intelligence.
3. Therefore, most probably, the gene regulatory network was programmed by an intelligent agency.
Another outstanding implication of the existence of organic codes in Nature comes from the fact that any code involves meaning and we need therefore to introduce in biology, with the standard methods of science, not only the concept of biological information but also that of biological meaning. The study on the organic codes, in conclusion, is bringing to light new mechanisms that operated in the history of life and new fundamental concepts. It is an entirely new field of research, the exploration of a vast and still largely unexplored dimension of the living world, the real new frontier of biology.

Wow, that’s amazing! I think the implications are even more stunning . . . it seems that each of the different codes interact within the same interoperational environment, which seems to me that either there once was a neutral data format or that they had to develop or be programmed simultaneously!
Is this correct in general?
Thanks again for sharing this information!

Given the enormous amount of information we have from NDE studies, there are some very evident implications. Of particular note is the common NDE experience of meeting and interacting with those who have died. In some cases, the NDEr met someone they did not recognize, but who identified themselves as a past relative. Later the NDEr verified that the person they met was indeed whom the person identified themselves as after tracking it down through various family members. In other cases, the NDErs met someone they believed at the time was alive, only to find out that person had passed shortly before they experienced their NDE.
These NDE meetings have the quality of the deceased looking like, dressed like, acting like, and talking like the people they were here, even if the NDEr never actually met them or had no knowledge of them whatsoever.
This clearly implies that what we call the “quantum information” of a person continues after death as distinct individuals with most of their significant characteristics intact.
I kind of agree with you here, but it may largely be a matter of semantics. I don’t particularly care for the word “spiritual” because that carries with it all kinds of often vague and diverse baggage. NDEs are not the only source of credible information about the afterlife and what that kind of existence is like, however. Other sources indicate a diverse range of environments, perspectives, and lifestyles held by those living in what we call “the afterlife,” which is probably a very misleading descriptor.
It seems to me that thinking of the complex physical and quantum networks necessary for life in terms of “designing a physical system” is still (perhaps subconscious) materialist thinking. If “things” don’t exist” until we observe them, the existence of microtubules and the quantum networking architecture of cells did not even exist as what we observe them to be until we recently observed them.
I think a better way of thinking about what is going on would be in terms of a virtual-world procedural algorithm, commonly used in video game or VR technology. The algorithm processes only the information relevant to the perspective of the observer at any given time; off-screen information has not yet been been processed. IOW, a highly sophisticated algorithm (which is itself an informational system) processes potential information into active information depending on the state of the individual observer in the “simulation.”
Just modeling all of the networked information systems described in prior comments would be a virtually impossible achievement, but instantiating such a system into an actual physical substrate would be, IMO, impossible even in principle because it would require collapsing quantum potentials we know are not collapsed prior to individually looking at them.
We, as individuals, seem to have access to an open-ended, procedural experiential algorithm that “looks like” quantum collapse as the algorithm takes the state of the observer into account while computing the state of what the observer is observing. It doesn’t seem to be limited by space or linear time, which is further evidence against a “creator” of an actual “physical” world in any normal sense of those words. Apparently, the individual observer is creating his or her experiential world using a procedural algorithm on a continuing basis, generating the appearance of a physical world much like a VR system does the same. Since the physical world is generated by the individual (collapsed upon observation), the individual cannot itself be physical in nature. It would certainly survive physical death and in fact had to precede it beginning a physical experience.

Very interesting.
I have run across something closely related. This is the P2P participatory virtual physical reality simulation concept proposed by philosopher Marcus Arvan (paper describing it at https://philpapers.org/archive/ARVAUE.pdf ), which seems to well explain such mysteries as the ultimate nature of quantum mechanics and its well-verified but mysterious undergirding of our physical reality.
All of the physics of our world, including Einstein’s relativity equations, E = MC^^2, etc. etc. would merely be what was programmed into the P2P simulation.
According to the P2P virtual reality simulation hypothesis absolutely all of our world, the physical reality we experience and observe, is illusory and is basically information computed in some other (higher) reality. We as participators in the cosmic simulation would not be artifacts of the simulation – we would be the users, true conscious sentient thinking entities inhabiting that higher reality. This theory would strongly imply some sort of dualism as the mind-brain relationship.
It can account for all of the weird aspects of the underlying world entailed by quantum mechanics theory. All these aspects would merely be artifacts of exactly how the world simulation was programmed in its higher reality. This would include the quantum entanglement phenomena occurring within brain tissue discussed in this thread.
Another excellent exposition of the basic concept is that of Ross Rhodes, in his exposition A Cybernetic Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics, at http://www.mysearch.org.uk/website1/pdf/615.1.pdf .
Of course, this approach also has problems, such as it’s unfalsifiability, and the fact that it still leaves unexamined and fundamentally not understandable the ultimate nature of the higher reality of the simulation. To speak nothing of the fundamental possibility of there being an indefinite number of yet higher simulation realities.
If we are living in a simulation generated by some other (higher) beings, we must really be the users of or participators in the “virtual reality simulation game” and our real existence is outside the simulation. If the simulation is terminated, we, our conscious awareness, would presumable not be wiped out – we would simply forcibly exit the simulated world/reality into the higher reality of the simulation system and its builders, which might really be our home. Like the gamer having his computer and other virtual reality simulation game equipment turned off on him. His computer, virtual reality goggles and keyboard/controller, etc. no longer work, involuntarily returning his consciousness to the real physical world.
A spiritual/metaphysical interpretation of this could be that this P2P simulation reality is merely the underlying mechanism by which Spirit creates the playground of experience and limitation and learning for eternal souls.
Of course, logically, another possibility could be that the higher level P2P simulation world could in turn just be another even higher-level P2P simulation, and so on without end, ad infinitum. The intellect, along with abstract thought, creativity and imagination can get lost in its own ponderings of the possibilities.
Doubter,
Indeed, it’s quite a wondrous train of thought, and it matches up with quite a bit of quantum evidence and with afterlife research. There are many people that are exploring the limits of what the mind can achieve by utilizing this model.
