Sokal hoaxer Peter Boghossian makes some Utah State students feel that they are not “safe”

Remember Peter Boghossian and the Sokal hoaxers? They got intentional total rubbish accepted as Correct social science, enabling the rest of us to see how far the discipline has declined. Hard sciences are under the gun too, of course, but that’s a story for another post.

Students at Utah State U protested Boghossian’s visit because they explained, they “do not feel safe:”

Boghossian, a prominent atheist author, was involved in a project a couple years ago writing hoax papers and submitting them to peer-reviewed journals to reveal how fields like gender and race studies are “based less upon finding truth and more upon attending to social grievances.”

He co-authored “The Conceptual Penis as a Social Construct,” which was published in Cogent Social Sciences and blamed the phallic for causing climate change and raping empty spaces through “manspreading.” Other papers included a woke version of “Mein Kampf” with “fashionable buzzwords switched in” accepted by a feminist journal, as well as a paper discovering “rape culture” in dog parks.

His involvement in this effort has drawn the ire of the Utah State University Anti-Racist Solidarity Group, which penned a letter to Utah State President Noelle Cockett that calls on administration to “prioritize student well-being and academic integrity” when considering future events.

Apparently, he is guilty of “conceptual fascism” as well. My, my.

Kiddos, the only people who should not “feel safe” around a Sokal hoaxer are people who are full of it. If you knew your stuff and were doing anything useful, you’d have nothing to fear. You’d even find it fun.

If it’s not canceled, the event is tonight. He is speaking across from Christian apologist Corey Miller:

Boghossian and Miller have developed a friendship around their common disregard for woke culture. They have a sort of traveling dog and pony show, discussing and debating their views. It’s interesting that a man whose career is focused on Christian apologetics in universities is “safe” – Corey is CEO of Ratio Christi (

How come the students don’t feel unsafe under a president named Cockett?

Interview with President of Ratio Christi on Social Justice, Critical Theory and Identity Politics
    – In this episode I interview Corey Miller, President of Ratio Christi, in advance of his upcoming discussion with atheist Professor Peter Boghossian here in Utah. On February 6 and 7, Dr. Miller and Dr. Boghossian will engage in four dialogues on four Utah campuses. The title of their dialogue is, “A Christian and an Atheist Unite Against the Death of Intellectual Diversity at the University: How Social Justice and Identity Politics are Negatively Impacting Culture and the University.” In our interview Dr. Miller discusses how this discussion came about and why this topic is so important. He defines and gives the history of the “social justice” movement and contemporary critical theory and how these ideas are destroying the campus and the church.

And again, Peter Boghossian is an atheist professor that use to attack Christianity.
