And that is one of the advantages of presenting information in this way, i.e. that of presenting only those aspects of a function that needs to be comprehended and retained. The accuracy of the depiction may be lacking in some cases, but if it conveys useful knowlege it passes muster. I regard it as a kind of 'visual metaphor'.LeeBowman
