video - This faithful doctor says that Heaven is more real than world we live in. His proof comes from seeing many people pass from this world to the next as he sits vigil holding many dying patient’s hands. His miraculous story give true insight into the afterlife. O'Leary NEWS, of related note, I read the following article this morning and was quite impressed at how 'questioning of the spirit' first moved this descendent of Charles Darwin from atheism towards Christianity:
If Only Charles Darwin Could See His Descendant Now Excerpt: During her grandmother’s long illness, Keynes explains that she “returned to the Rosary during those long hours at her bedside and was reminded of the redemptive power of Christ’s suffering. I apprehended a theological underpinning to the question of suffering. Seeing death made me question the spirit: what it is, where it comes from, where it goes. So by this point, I was developing a spiritual awareness, but hadn’t made the step back to the Catholic Church. That step came after much reflection and reading.” When asked if, partly, she found the anger of the new atheists off-putting, Keynes concurs, saying, “One of the things that made me wary of ‘new atheism’ was the strange mix of angry emotion I encountered there:,,, http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/if-only-charles-darwin-could-see-his-descendant-now/
Here are a few tantalizing clues that humans are more than merely molecules in motion:
The Unbearable Wholeness of Beings - Steve Talbott Excerpt: Virtually the same collection of molecules exists in the canine cells during the moments immediately before and after death. But after the fateful transition no one will any longer think of genes as being regulated, nor will anyone refer to normal or proper chromosome functioning. No molecules will be said to guide other molecules to specific targets, and no molecules will be carrying signals, which is just as well because there will be no structures recognizing signals. Code, information, and communication, in their biological sense, will have disappeared from the scientist’s vocabulary. ,,,Rather than becoming progressively disordered in their mutual relations (as indeed happens after death, when the whole dissolves into separate fragments), the processes hold together in a larger unity. http://www.thenewatlantis.com/publications/the-unbearable-wholeness-of-beings Information and entropy – top-down or bottom-up development in living systems? A.C. McINTOSH - Dr Andy C. McIntosh is the Professor of Thermodynamics (the highest teaching/research rank in U.K. university hierarchy) Combustion Theory at the University of Leeds. Excerpt: This paper highlights the distinctive and non-material nature of information and its relationship with matter, energy and natural forces. It is proposed in conclusion that it is the non-material information (transcendent to the matter and energy) that is actually itself constraining the local thermodynamics to be in ordered disequilibrium and with specified raised free energy levels necessary for the molecular and cellular machinery to operate. http://journals.witpress.com/paperinfo.asp?pid=420
And we now have evidence for this transcendent information that is 'constraining the local thermodynamics to be in ordered disequilibrium',,
Quantum Information/Entanglement In DNA – Elisabeth Rieper – short video http://www.metacafe.com/watch/5936605/
Moreover this transcendent information is found to be conserved
Quantum no-hiding theorem experimentally confirmed for first time – March 2011 Excerpt: In the classical world, information can be copied and deleted at will. In the quantum world, however, the conservation of quantum information means that information cannot be created nor destroyed. http://phys.org/news/2011-03-quantum-no-hiding-theorem-experimentally.html Quantum no-deleting theorem Excerpt: A stronger version of the no-cloning theorem and the no-deleting theorem provide permanence to quantum information. To create a copy one must import the information from some part of the universe and to delete a state one needs to export it to another part of the universe where it will continue to exist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_no-deleting_theorem#Consequence
But if this transcendent information that is 'constraining the local thermodynamics to be in ordered disequilibrium' cannot be destroyed, then exactly where does this conserved information go upon the death of the human body?
“I was in a body, and the only way that I can describe it was a body of energy, or of light. And this body had a form. It had a head, it had arms and it had legs. And it was like it was made out of light. And it was everything that was me. All of my memories, my consciousness, everything.”,,, “And then this vehicle formed itself around me. Vehicle is the only thing, or tube, or something, but it was a mode of transportation that’s for sure! And it formed around me. And there was no one in it with me. I was in it alone. But I knew there were other people ahead of me and behind me. What they were doing I don’t know, but there were people ahead of me and people behind me, but I was alone in my particular conveyance. And I could see out of it. And it went at a tremendously, horrifically, rapid rate of speed. But it wasn’t unpleasant. It was beautiful in fact. I was reclining in this thing, I wasn’t sitting straight up, but I wasn’t lying down either. I was sitting back. And it was just so fast. I can’t even begin to tell you where it went or whatever it was just fast!" – Vicki’s NDE – Blind since birth - quote taken from the following video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e65KhcCS5-Y

Unclear, to me at any rate, why a person who believes in spooks and gibbering frites baulks at believing in the mind or free will. One is temptd to take advantage of them, but it would be very unethical. - O'Leary for News (by the way, just for the record, I am not the only person here who writes News).News

If you spend any time at all on the website Fark.com, you know the site's got a large atheist/agnostic population. And quite a few of them, surprisingly, admit to believing in ghosts or the supernatural. At least in the sense that they had an experience or know of someone who had an experience of some spiritual nature that defies explanation. They might not say outright, "I do believe in spooks, I do, I do," but they're humble enough to admit that there's more in this world than is dreamt of in their particular atheist philosophy.Barb
