After a reported suicide attempt July 23, disgraced millionnaire Jeffery Epstein is reported to have committed suicide in his cell in Manhattan, New York. Daily Mail’s bullet-point summary:

Drudge “in red” headers list:

I add, Sun Aug 11, a video:

This comes just one day after May 3, 2016 testimony of Veronica Roberts Giuffre was unsealed. According to DM ” Giuffre alleged that she was trafficked by Epstein and Maxwell to have sex with and provide erotic massages for politicians and affluent businessmen.” (NB: For the record, she specifically denies being sexually involved with either former US President Clinton or present President Trump.)

Roberts’ testimony on Miami Herald (warning, has graphic messages):

A second victim Araoz (again, graphic):

This disturbing development is all the more questionable as Mr Epstein would have been a high profile prisoner at risk of both being murdered and committing suicide. He should have been under close guard and after the earlier incident he should have been under suicide watch.

This development is bound to feed all sorts of speculations about corrupt, ruthless global power elites. In that context, it is advisable to bear in mind straight vs spin principles:

Let us soberly reflect on this tragic development. END

PS: Let us at least hear what the witnesses in this Australian 60 Minutes report have to say:

For reference, Aus 60 mins on the stomach-churning testimony of a 15 yo survivor, victim and witness on a powerful UK network:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J9tNgu73Wc

Likewise, watch and come to your own conclusions on the Franklin case, noting that the balance of credibility has now definitively tipped:

Ask yourself, is this nightmare that you cannot wake up from where we want to go? And yes, those are the words of that 15 year old survivor.

PPS: The case and article an objector does not want to face:

BO'H: Yes, but that does not answer this specific case, and the lapse in even ordinary procedures within 24 hours of release of sealed testimony that fingers big names, itself speaks when we note what is said to have happened. I see rumours of malfunctioning security cams too but we should hold that until confirmed. What should have been done (and is done with high value information assets) is something like I put up in 4 above:
This was a high profile prisoner at the heart of a network of corruption (so able to implicate powerful and desperate men) and therefore a serious candidate for murder AND suicide. He should have been under 24/7 close guard from the moment of his custody. There is no doubt that the US Gov’t knew this and more than has the relevant capability to provide protection. A safe house in a remote area in the middle of a military base with at least 100 m fields of clear fire would have been my choice and as the FBI has utterly compromised itself, Secret Service close guard. Maybe Delta Force or the Seals as perimeter guard. At minimum, far better protection in the gaol. That this was instead allowed to happen on its face implies somebody with power wanted — the alternatives are that obvious — a convenient outcome.
This stinks. KFkairosfocus

It was not immediately clear why Epstein was taken off suicide watch. At the MCC, two jail guards are required to make separate checks on all prisoners every 30 minutes, but that procedure was not followed overnight, according to the source. In addition, every 15 minutes guards are required to make another check on prisoners who are on suicide watch.
I think it's worth reading this thread on twitter about suicide watch. One important point is that it's not good for the prisoner's mental health, so keeping them on it for more than a short period of time is not considered a good idea: basically, it could increase the chances of a suicide.Bob O'H

U/D: Steven Hayward of Powerline:
https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/08/epstein.php How does this happen? It is hard to credit mere incompetence, though that is always my default explanation for any government screw up. But after charges were dropped against Jussie Smollette in Chicago, you begin to default instead to the explanation of corruption and conspiracy. In the true confessions department, I once had to spend 45 minutes behind bars in a county lockup. Never you mind just how this happened! (“It was all just a misunderstanding officer! Really, I swear it!”) The intake process involved removing my tie, my belt, shoes, my wristwatch, and—in what struck me as the most unnecessary step—even my wedding ring. There wasn’t even toilet paper in the cell that I could attempt to swallow if I wanted to try to choke myself or throw spitwads at another cell dweller (who were all passed out in any case). If a local county lockup can take these kind of precautions against self-harm, it beggars belief that a federal facility, guarding the most high-profile criminal in the country just now, couldn’t prevent a hanging. This stinks. Attorney General Barr is asking for an FBI investigation and and Inspector General investigation. Why an IG investigation, too? Maybe he doesn’t trust the Clinton-friendly FBI? (On the other hand, if this IG report takes as long as most of them do to finish, we’ll be dead from global warming before we see it.)
That is where we are. KFkairosfocus

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-people-jeffrey-epstein/disgraced-u-s-financier-jeffrey-epstein-killed-himself-in-jail-source-idUSKCN1V00GM Last month, Epstein was found unconscious on the floor of his jail cell with marks on his neck, and officials were investigating that incident as a possible suicide or assault. “Mr. Epstein’s death raises serious questions that must be answered,” Barr said in a statement. Even though Epstein was found unconscious last month, he had recently been taken off suicide watch, a special set of procedures for inmates in danger of taking their own life, according to the source. The financier was in a cell by himself when his body was found.
At absolute minimum, Epstein should not have been in this level of facility. He should have been treated as a captured strategically critical intelligence asset. That he was not, speaks. Volumes. We are seeing into inner power circles through a narrow crack, and a horrible scent is coming out of the same crack. If this isn't someone trying to stop the crack, then there had better be a first class explanation otherwise. KFkairosfocus

"I think I will start buying stock in tinfoil manufacturers."
A real member of the tin-foil hat crowd wins her drivers license fight POLITICAL INSIDER Nov 16, 2015 A Massachusetts agency is letting a woman who belongs to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster wear a colander on her head in her driver's license photo after she cited her religious beliefs. Lowell resident Lindsay Miller said Friday that she "absolutely loves the history and the story" of Pastafarians, whose website says has existed in secrecy for hundreds of years and entered the mainstream in 2005. Miller says wearing the spaghetti strainer allows her to express her beliefs, like other religions are allowed to do. A spokesman for the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles says policy does not permit head coverings or hats on license photos, but exceptions are made for religious reasons. Lawyer Patty DeJuneas calls Pastafarianism a "secular religion that uses parody to make its point." https://www.ajc.com/blog/politics/real-member-the-tin-foil-hat-crowd-wins-her-drivers-license-fight/2VTTxijNvIAP6r2y6fEgHI/ Google search - tin foil hat spaghetti colanders flying spaghetti monster https://www.google.com/search?biw=1600&bih=774&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=2ulPXevgJI6iswWx3pfQAQ&q=tin+foil+hat+spaghetti+colanders+flying+spaghetti+monster&oq=tin+foil+hat+spaghetti+colanders+flying+spaghetti+monster&gs_l=img.12...67942.68837..73132...0.0..0.90.342.4......0....1..gws-wiz-img.irQi9fombZc&ved=0ahUKEwjrtc-QyvrjAhUO0awKHTHvBRoQ4dUDCAY Man wears strainer on his head in driver's license photo - 2017 ,,,, Corbett calls himself a "pastafarian," who wears the item as part of his religious headgear. "Pastafarianism is part of the church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, which says the world was created 5,000 years ago by a Flying Spaghetti Monster," Corbett said. If that sounds, well, a little hokey, it's supposed to be. Corbett admits pastafarianism is more satirical than reverent. Most states require people to take their driver's license photos free of headgear or other items, but exceptions are sometimes made for religious reasons. So that's why Corbett feels he should be able to wear the pasta strainer in his photo. However, a spokesman with the Arizona Department of Transportation told KNXV that while some exceptions are made for religious headwear, Corbett's colander getup probably shouldn't have been allowed, so the state is going to void the photo and driver's license. If that happens, Corbett says he's prepared to wage a legal battle for the right to be photographed with kitchenware on his head. https://www.cnn.com/2017/06/01/us/pasta-strainer-license-photo-trnd/index.html

Anthopic: Yes, the militant rejection of the inconvenient design inference has interesting consequences. Vivid: Allegedly by hanging himself. Precisely what relevant protocols focus on. Where, notice, NOW we hear he complained of attempted murder. DM also has an odd isolated comment about very strange behaviour that should itself have been a big red flag if true. Above, I argue that he should not have been in a gaol but in a properly protected safe house undergoing months of intelligence grade interrogation and debriefing. Something went very conveniently wrong, and gaols are notoriously easily manipulated because of the deeply entrenched presence of corruption. News: Sasse is right: “Every single person in the Justice Department – from your Main Justice headquarters staff all the way to the night-shift jailer – knew that this man was a suicide risk, and that his dark secrets couldn’t be allowed to die with him,” I add, he was also a murder risk. Depending on the organisation, he may have been indoctrinated with a suicide protocol also where his permanent silence by suicide would have been demanded on pain of something held hostage. Something is deeply wrong here and we just might be seeing a little bit into just how corrupt the power centres of our civilisation are. You can bet your bottom dollar that the purveyors of crooked yardsticks are going to fight tooth and nail against exposure by plumb line. But this just may be a watershed moment when a critical mass wakes up as a corrupt group think dominated power elite makes that fatal step that triggers collapse of the cliff underfoot. This one is just plain too obvious and connects to too much. I believe, this may well be a tipping point, potentially for the good if we take the path of reformation. If the corrupt elites win this one, fatal disaffection is likely going to snowball. That's a revolutionary precursor, and I am by no means sure that the integrity of the ballot box still sufficiently exists. Those who cynically corrupt the ballot box force resort to a much more destructive box. One that bears labels like Winchester or Federal or Remington or CCI or the like. Which is what the US Second Amendment is in the end about. Playing heedlessly with fire . . . KFkairosfocus

PS: I should take up your allusion to tin foil hattery. The idea there is that a Faraday cage protects from EM waves, something used in high security communications. The further idea seems to be secret mind control by beaming to brains, perhaps influenced by people whose teeth somehow functioned as diode detector circuits so they began to hear radio broadcasts through bone conduction of vibrations. Of course such a hat is not good enough to shield -- let me just call out: "skin depth" -- and it is dubious that direct brain manipulation like that is happening. (Dangerous effects of microwaves of sufficient power are something else and there may be something to health damaging effects of HV power lines etc.) However, there really is something to brainwashing, mind control and propagandistic manipulation. Only, that tends to happen socially and/or institutionally and/or through the media. As is precisely something my straight vs spin grid in the OP combats. As does instruction in worldviews analysis, starting with the focus of my series on logic and first principles: getting our core thinking straightened out, especially by detecting and exposing crooked yardsticks posing as false standards for straightness, accuracy and uprightness. Where, if one has accepted such a crooked yardstick, what is actually straight and upright will never pass the test of conformity to crookedness. This result is important, as it readily explains why ruthless agit prop operators want to set up their ideologies as we then become resistant to the actual truth and its warrant. It even extends to different kinds of crookedness. That is, indoctrination in error can imprison us mentally AND lead us to resist that which would set us free: you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free. And yes, that is a part of a Dominical saying, the quote is:
Jn 8:31 So Jesus was saying to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].” [--> I think AMP is to narrow, surely implicitly, and contextually, also the enslaving power of sin, including by deception including crooked yardsticks] 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone. [d]What do You mean by saying, ‘You will be set free’?” 34 Jesus answered, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, everyone who practices sin habitually is a slave of sin. [--> which enslaves through addictive habits, being locked into roles and circumstances and through deception] [AMP]
After a bit of further exchange, Jesus went on:
Jn 8: 43 Why do you misunderstand what I am saying? It is because [your spiritual ears are deaf and] you are unable to hear [the truth of] My word . . . 45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me [and continue in your unbelief].
In short, a classic case of the crooked yardstick in action. Hence the inestimable value of naturally straight and upright self evident first principles. But some are so locked in that they will resist and reject or dismiss or even be blind to the natural straightness and uprightness of a plumb line. A truly sobering result that shows the value of logic and first principles. Which should lead us to sharply question why it is that such are more or less denigrated and are often locked out of our education system and the media. Starting with the sneer that the triple first principles of right reason that pivot on distinct identity are mere outdated Aristotelian logic. Let me refresh on how that core is taught as a basic given in the similarly despised scriptures:
1 Cor 14: 7 Yet even lifeless things, whether flute or harp, when producing a sound, if they do not produce distinct [musical] tones, how will anyone [listening] know what is piped or played? 8 And if the [war] bugle produces an indistinct sound, who will prepare himself for battle?
Notice, the use of inescapable concrete examples which are familiar? Language and music pivot on distinct identity of certain sounds, forming words and tunes. The first is pivotal to abstract thought and the second is a form of code in the context of the war bugle or trumpet amidst the chaotic noise of battle. From this immediately, distinct identity leads to the laws of identity, excluded middle and non-contradiction. And no, Quantum theorists use language including Mathematics as the language of structure and quantity. (Yes, yet another crooked yardstick bites the dust.) But of course, we are so tempted to laugh at the half-mad man in a tinfoil hat with his silly conspiracy theories that we miss the importance of conspiracies and manipulation in society and history. The name for that fallacy is, lost in the laugh (a form of throwing out the baby with the bath water). It is also yet another case of red herrings led away to strawman caricatures soaked in ad hominems and rhetorically set alight to cloud, confuse, poison and polarise the atmosphere, frustrating sound discussion towards truth and prudent action. It is time for fresh thinking in this blatant case of at least culpable failure of due diligence on a case of highest importance, and more broadly.kairosfocus

Brother Brian at 14, your innocence is touching. People often wondered what he'd come up with in a plea deal. Now they must go on wondering. It's hard to imagine that no one with influence in the system had pondered the implications for people whose offences have always been protected in the past. From the BBC: -- In a letter to Attorney General William Barr, Republican Senator Ben Sasse said "heads must roll." "The Department of Justice failed, and today Jeffrey Epstein's co-conspirators think they might have just gotten one last sweetheart deal," he said. "Every single person in the Justice Department - from your Main Justice headquarters staff all the way to the night-shift jailer - knew that this man was a suicide risk, and that his dark secrets couldn't be allowed to die with him," he added. The attorney general said there were "serious questions that must be answered". Mr Barr added that he was "appalled" by the news of Epstein's death and said the justice department had opened its own investigation. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-49309317 -- But that's all bluster. Heads may roll but they won't be very important ones.News

This is so weird. Last Wed I was talking to a friend and Epstein came up and I told him that he would never make it out alive from that jail, now he is dead. Does anyone know how he killed himself. There r so many questions. It was but a few weeks ago that he was taken to the hospital with severe injuries that was reported to be an attempted suicide. It’s was reported that he was put on suicide watch and taken off. Why was he taken off so quickly? Let’s assume it was based on some type of protocol. Ok but even if u take someone off watch would you not make sure that there was nothing in his cell that he could use to harm himself? The BOP’s suicide prevention protocol entails, first and foremost, human eyes on the prisoner 24 hours a day. It also requires a strict deprivation of anything — shoelaces, sheets, pillowcases — that could possibly be used to hang oneself. It also requires disabling anything that could be used to tie a noose — vents, sprinkler heads, etc. Was this basic procedure done? If not why not?. I mean it was only a few weeks removed from an alleged suicide attempt If it was done then how did he kill himself.? Finally where were the guards when all this went down? I am not the least surprised that he is dead because as I stated before I predicted that he would never get out alive Vividvividbleau

BB, you are here playing dismissive over the questionable death of a figure KNOWN to be at the heart of a network of pedophilia who should have been very carefully protected (from himself as well as others) and interrogated thoroughly until the full coherent story came out; to unravel the network. That sort of thorough interrogation would take months. Instead, what is already in the news on his incarceration reveals a blatant case of mismanagement. That is symptomatic, it goes to his death being a very convenient solution for someone. This reverses the balance of credibility, constituting a telling sign of corrupt, ruthless power with things to hide. This is no cooked up dossier or questionable accuser and media circus of uncorroborated accusations spun up into an agit prop hysteria, last time investigators were evidently told he is intelligence tied and a crazy plea bargain was struck with the claim, that was what we could get through and it would brand him. That sounded like protection, this sounds like he is now expendable. Something smells. KF PS: On paying off would-be accusers, I suggest a key consideration is the sorry state of US defamation law and the likelihood of media lynchings. My first response is, Graham/Pence rules are fully justified. Of course, that was turned away from the issue of open season for slander and needed law reform into accusations of prejudice. Next, while such is in the end short-sighted and counter productive, the Byzantine approach of paying off barbarian chieftains to keep going and bother someone else instead is understandable. That's similar to the payments to Barbary pirates and the ultimate decision to mount punitive expeditions by the fledgling US Navy and Marines. And in the end, that is going to happen: someone is going to go for the jugular (especially of the media scandal-mongers); I only hope it will be by way of a massive court case. And already there is an ill-advised judicial attempt to toss out about as good a case to fix the defamation law mess as you are going to get. The alternative, gives me nightmares on general principles and because the whole world will face serious consequences. Whether or not the isolationists like it, the USA is the leading maritime power that stabilises today's world (especially the Eurasian rimlands) as once the Royal Navy did.kairosfocus

U/D: Smoking gun, NYT:
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/10/nyregion/jeffrey-epstein-suicide.html Last month, after being denied bail on federal sex trafficking charges, Mr. Epstein was found unconscious in his jail cell with marks on his neck. Prison officials had been investigating the incident as a possible suicide attempt. Mr. Epstein, who had been found injured on July 23, was placed on suicide watch and received a daily psychiatric evaluation, according to a person familiar with his detention. He was removed from suicide watch on July 29 and returned to the special housing unit, a segregated area of the prison with extra security, this person said. The authorities did not immediately explain why he was taken off suicide watch. The F.B.I. said it was investigating, and Attorney General William P. Barr said in a statement that a special inquiry would be opened into what happened. “I was appalled to learn that Jeffrey Epstein was found dead early this morning from an apparent suicide while in federal custody,” Mr. Barr said. “Mr. Epstein’s death raises serious questions that must be answered.”
Picking up another NYT article, this is what suicide watch is like:
Inmates on suicide watch are generally placed in a special observation cell, surrounded with windows, with a bolted down bed and no bedclothes. A correction officer — or sometimes a fellow inmate trained to be a “suicide companion” — is typically assigned to sit in an adjacent office and monitor the inmate constantly. Robert Gangi, an expert on prisons and the former executive director of the Correctional Association of New York, said guards also generally take shoelaces and belts away from people on suicide watch. “If he’s on suicide watch, it’s virtually impossible to kill yourself,” Mr. Gangi said.
This just may be tipping point. KFkairosfocus

BB, My clip at 9 from the news should sufficiently answer your attempted turnabout. It is clear that normal, obvious procedures for a case like this were not being followed, when in fact something much as I outlined should have been done. The FBI has discredited itself but its earlier approach to captured spies or Mafia witnesses and suspects would have been the low end of what should have been done. This was likely more important than that. This is like that Sunday morning escorted walk in Dallas in 1963 that had the designated chief suspect shot and mortally wounded on live TV by a Mafia-connected figure. Except, this is subtler. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark -- oops, New York -- no, the USA -- on third thought, given wider connexions, the world. KFkairosfocus

U/D, DM https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7344785/Jeffrey-Epstein-told-guards-tried-KILL-weeks-hanged-himself.html
Jeffrey Epstein told prison guards and fellow inmates that he believed someone had tried to kill him in the weeks before his death, a source has revealed to DailyMail.com . . . . The millionaire had been taken off suicide watch before taking his own life on Saturday morning - sparking outrage from Attorney General William Barr who has now vowed to look into the circumstances surrounding Epstein's death. 'Epstein's death raises serious questions that must be answered,' Barr said in a statement on Saturday afternoon. 'In addition to the FBI's investigation, I have consulted with the Inspector General who is opening an investigation into the circumstances of the death'. According to a prison officer, Epstein was being kept in a special unit with additional security, but he was not being actively surveyed by officials at the facility. The decision to remove Epstein, who was possibly the most high-profile inmate in the federal jail system, from suicide watch has both baffled and outraged former wardens and veterans of the federal prison system alike. 'For them to pull him off suicide watch is shocking,' Cameron Lindsay, a former warden, told NBC News. 'For someone this high-profile, with these allegations and this many victims, who has had a suicide attempt in the last few weeks, you can take absolutely no chances. You leave him on suicide watch until he's out of there.'
This smells. I add, and likely connects in all sorts of directions. KFkairosfocus

BB, your comment is precisely why the above feature targetted the need for prudence and fairness in addressing the relevant news, using a 4 x 4 straight vs spin grid. Notice, my specific comments:
This comes just one day after May 3, 2016 testimony of Veronica Roberts Giuffre was unsealed. According to DM ” Giuffre alleged that she was trafficked by Epstein and Maxwell to have sex with and provide erotic massages for politicians and affluent businessmen.” (NB: For the record, she specifically denies being sexually involved with either former US President Clinton or present President Trump.) This disturbing development is all the more questionable as Mr Epstein would have been a high profile prisoner at risk of both being murdered and committing suicide. He should have been under close guard and after the earlier incident he should have been under suicide watch. This development is bound to feed all sorts of speculations about corrupt, ruthless global power elites. In that context, it is advisable to bear in mind straight vs spin principles:
The contrast with your loaded phrasing could not be clearer: There is already plenty of evidence in the public records of his parties with powerful people, including Trump. But Trump seems to be immune to any political consequences, mostly because his hedonistic behaviour was never a secret. This is of course an issue of prudence, warrant and restraint, which are directly relevant to the problem of public exchanges on contentious issues in this time. Let me put it in theological terms, to hammer home the point of how our increasing rejection of the root of sound moral government has led to a destructive cultural spin-out, which on the part of the USA is now in low kinetic fourth generation civil war with mostly agit prop street theatre operations, dishonest propagandistic media, censorship and lawfare. I clip Rom 1, which -- line by line -- explains and predicts what we are seeing:
Rom 1: 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them [in their inner consciousness], for God made it evident to them. 20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense. [–> see here] 21 For even though [d]they knew God [as the Creator], they did not [e]honor Him as God or give thanks [for His wondrous creation]. On the contrary, they became worthless in their thinking [godless, with pointless reasonings, and silly speculations], and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God for [f]an image [worthless idols] in the shape of mortal man and birds and four-footed animals and reptiles . . . . 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worth knowing [as their Creator], God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do things which are improper and repulsive, 29 until they were filled (permeated, saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spiritedness. They are gossips [spreading rumors], 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors [of new forms] of evil, disobedient and disrespectful to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful [without pity]. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree and His judgment, that those who do such things deserve death, yet they not only do them, but they even [enthusiastically] approve and tolerate others who practice them. [AMP]
KF PS, I add: This was a high profile prisoner at the heart of a network of corruption (so able to implicate powerful and desperate men) and therefore a serious candidate for murder AND suicide. He should have been under 24/7 close guard from the moment of his custody. There is no doubt that the US Gov't knew this and more than has the relevant capability to provide protection. That this was instead allowed to happen on its face implies somebody with power wanted -- the alternatives are that obvious -- a convenient outcome.kairosfocus

Wow, BB, that's a really severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome! Trump wasn't the guy who took 26 trips on the Lolita Express. And he banned Epstein from Mar A Lago fifteen years ago after complaints about his conduct towards a female staffer. You must be doing a Biden, choosing "truth" over facts.anthropic

There may have been shoddy corrections practices but I don’t see any conspiracy in his suicide. There is already plenty of evidence in the public records of his parties with powerful people, including Trump.
