Within the last few days, this story has come out. I’ll provide a link below; but, for the Darwinists (I won’t call them evolutionary biologists. Why? Because Erasmus Darwin was an evolutionary biologist. Lamarck was an evolutionary biologist, etc. No, they’re followers of C. Darwin, and, hence, Darwinists) who want to maintain that Richard Sternberg and others were not shabbily treated, here it is, the same kind of treatment, and, again, at the hands of ‘dispassionate, objective’ scientists. Here’s an excerpt from the article in the Daily Mail:

A globally-renowned climate scientist has been forced to step down from a think-tank after he was subjected to ‘Mc-Carthy’-style pressure from scientists around the world.

Professor Lennart Bengtsson, 79, a leading academic from the University of Reading, left the high-profile Global Warming Policy Foundation as a result of the threats, which he described as ‘virtually unbearable’.

And, then:

‘I see therefore no other way out therefore than resigning from GWPF. I had not expecting such an enormous world-wide pressure put at me from a community that I have been close to all my active life.

‘Colleagues are withdrawing their support, other colleagues are withdrawing from joint authorship etc.

‘I see no limit and end to what will happen. It is a situation that reminds me about the time of McCarthy.

Here’s the link.

I understand people wanting to be a 'fly on the wall,' but, 'bat guano'?? On a serious note, if we simplify global climate change, the two 'elephants' in the room are radiant energy from the SUN and radiant heat from a radioactive CORE. If the CORE 'heats up,' one would expect more magmatic activity, more volcanic activity, a very slight elevation in the temperature of the oceans, and from that slight elevation in temperature, an "expansion" of the ocean's volume. Result: more water vapor=higher atmospheric temperature, and larger volume=sea-level rise. Oh, sorry, I forgot about those computer-models . . . (which, of course, don't pay any attention to heat coming from the earth's core) PaV

@PeterJ: Thanks for the link. Nice to see a different side to the story. JWTruthInLove
I just registered and this is my first comment here. I have debated evolutionists on several websites and their arguments (and ad hominem attacks) are all the same. I have been enjoying the openness of the give and take here and I want to be a part of it. BatGuano
PeterJ There are a lot issues to unpack there but this site covers those issues very well. http://wattsupwiththat.com/ Jehu
What to make of the following? Would appreciate some opinions, please. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/earth-insight/2014/may/16/murdoch-media-hypes-lone-climate-denial-big-oil PeterJ
Very sad. :-( R.I.P science Blue_Savannah
cool Moose Dr, well worth another listen/look bornagain77
Thanks BA77 for the link. I was about 1/2 way through listening to it when I got frustrated that I couldn't see the visuals, so I searched youtube, and found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LkMweOVOOI The same discussion, slightly poorer audo (go figure), but you get the visuals. Dr. Easterbrook makes a compelling case that AGW is AG huey. Moose Dr
It shows conformity must be obeyed. it shows pressure is a tool. In great conclusions on issues touching on science there is a agenda to present a united front in order to perasuade the public. So dissent is attacked with malice aforethought. Its like that in origin issues but its too late to save them this time. Robert Byers
Jehu,
Well, the ice in the South Pole is increasing, so there is that.
buddy, don't proclaim that so loud, you know that's not politically correct ;-) Dionisio

Since the melting ice on both poles is causing the oceans level to increase rapidly, which pretty soon will inevitably produce floods in low coastal areas all over the world, my retired neighbor has suggested that the oil-rich nations fund this project, where a bunch of desalinization plants could be installed on oceanfront locations all around the world, so that fresh water could be pumped and delivered to dry areas, where it could be used for irrigation of deserts or to provide water to populations near dry terrains. I told my neighbor that I like his nice idea, so I will promote it online. This is the first time I reveal it! My neighbor said he dies not want to get any credits for his idea, but I will give him the credits anyway. After all, it is his idea, not mine. Would you support this project? This seems like a win-win deal for everyone. On one side, the oceans level will remain unchanged, while on the other side the water shortage in many regions of the world could be mitigated or even resolved. Think about it. Thanks. ;-) P.S. if you like this idea, and want to thank my neighbor for sharing it with the rest of us, his name is Simon. When he was younger, he served in the Navy, and he saw the desalinization plants installed on the ship. That was many years ago (he's 80+ now). He thinks that technology must be much more efficient these days. But the rich countries could help with funding this project. Dionisio
of related note: to anyone who thinks climate science is all above board and legitimate, this following expert may dissuade you of such gullibility podcast - In no ordinary presentation, Dr. Easterbrook (Professor Emeritus of Geology at Western Washington University) bombards the committee with an overwhelming arsenal of data and observations contrary to the theory of anthropogenic global warming. As the Internet jargon goes, this is a "must listen." http://themindrenewed.com/episodes/268-ep007 bornagain77
