Hormone therapy is also used in women with osteopenia to slow the onset of osteoporosis. My wife had it. It is about balancing risks. During the treatment and for a few years after she was being screened for breast cancer. Caught early, breast cancer treatment is quite successful. Breaking a hip can be life threatening or life debilitating.Allan Keith
