The scattering matrix of rectangular waveguides loaded with magnetized ferrite slabs of finite length
Abstract
The scattering matrix of a rectangular waveguide loaded with a magnetized ferrite slab of finite length being parallel to the narrow wall of the guide has been calculated by using the method of modal analysis. Some of the possible matrix equations have been investigated and their results discussed. In particular it has been shown that the required equality of the reflection coefficients for both directions of magnetization is obtained only if a sufficiently high number of complete modes has been applied.
