Apparently the academy has adopted the mantra that "wrong thought" will be swiftly and harshly punished and "right thought" just as quickly rewarded.DonaldM

Another thing, if Discovery and team are not already connected with FIRE, it seems like a good organization to have on your side in any university free speech battles. http://www.thefire.org/index.php/torch About FIRE Mission The mission of FIRE is to defend and sustain individual rights at America's increasingly repressive and partisan colleges and universities. These rights include freedom of speech, legal equality, due process, religious liberty, and sanctity of conscience -- the essential qualities of individual liberty and dignity. FIRE's core mission is to protect the unprotected and to educate the public and communities of concerned Americans about the threats to these rights on our campuses and about the means to preserve them.JohnLiljegren

Hey, Dembski, You’re good at numbers, probabilities, and predictions. Isn’t it about time to make some predictions about the total implosion/breakdown of the Darwinists Empire? Maybe start a betting pool. I know Empire Self-Destruction usually takes a long time [e.g. ‘progressive education,’ whole language reading, constructivist math, etc.], but these guys sure seem to be cracking up.JohnLiljegren

It's hard to tell anymore who they're working for, they seem to be deliberately ruining their reputation outside their tightly knit group.jasonng

PZ Meyers is such a girly man. I can't help but laugh at the thought of him with steel toed boots and brass knuckles. LOLDaveScot

And the list of names could also include Dean Kenyon, William Dembski, Percival Davis, Henry "Fritz" Schaefer (I almost forgot some faculty gave him a hard time for exercising his extra-curricular free speech rights), and so many others. And the McCarthyism spreads to attack distinguished professors like Walter Bradley: http://telicthoughts.com/?p=105 And some are quite open about their advocacy of an Darwinian Inquisition like Darwinist Professor PZ Myers who wrote: "Our only problem is that we aren’t martial enough, or vigorous enough, or loud enough, or angry enough. The only appropriate responses should involve some form of righteous fury, much butt-kicking, and the public firing and humiliation of some teachers, many schoolboard members..." "I say, screw the polite words and careful rhetoric. It’s time for scientists to break out the steel-toed boots and brass knuckles, and get out there and hammer on the lunatics and idiots..."scordova
