Does the herpes virus show that humans migrated out of Africa?

So say some researchers:

“What we found follows exactly what the anthropologists have told us, and the molecular geneticists who have analyzed the human genome have told us, about where humans originated and how they spread across the planet.”

Studies of human genomes have shown that human ancestors emerged from Africa roughly 150,000 to 200,000 years ago, and then spread eastward toward Asia, and westward toward Europe.

Okay, but FYI, some researchers believe that the human race originated in Asia and got to Africa on naturally occurring rafts of vegetation.

But then we’ve also heard that the hoatzin, an unusual South American bird, sailed there across the Atlantic across the Atlantic on accidentally formed floating rafts of vegetation. Also rodents. And crocodiles. And that Earth’s Earth’s first life forms road the seas on volcanic rock rafts. Either there was one mother of a green navy a long time ago, or there might be something in the Africa theory. Or something else. Let’s revisit this next year.

Did you give the right link? There's nothing about that in the link you gave, and I've never heard that theory before. Maybe you were thinking of the recently discovered fossil of Afrasia djijidae that some believe suggests that the ancestor of simians migrated from Asia nearly 40 million years ago? (But, needless to say, that has nothing to do with whether human migrated from Africa ~200,000 years ago.)goodusername
