Globally famous chemist James Tour on the origin of life

James Tour asks,

According to a nationwide survey, more than two-thirds of atheists and one-third of agnostics believe that “the findings of science make the existence of God less probable,” while nearly half of self-identified theists believe “the findings of science are neutral with regard to the existence of God.” But what if there is another option? What if the discoveries of science actually lend support to belief in God?

Taped at the 2019 Dallas Science and Faith Conference at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas sponsored by Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture.

That problem rattles cosmology too. The Big Bang and fine-tuning of the universe comport well with traditional theism and masses of nonsense are purported to replace them.

I was at that conference in Dallas. James Tour’s presentation was very impressive. All the presentations were good, but Tour’s was probably the most well-received.

Excellent talk. Dr. Tour is a true scientist who refuses to compromise with the junk science that comprises origin of life research.

Science is anything that can be measured. Spirit is anything that can not be measured. Science is powered by logic and evidence. Spirit is powered by believing and wisdom. No connection. Stop trying to prove or disprove spiritual things with science.

Peaceful Science is going bonkers over this video. A Faizal Ali has contacted Szostak to tell him Tour accused him of lying and is slandering him. They both got an email from this Ali clown.

I think Uncommon Descent could benefit by posting rebuttals to the nonsense posted over on Peaceful Science and by challenging them to support their claims. It would drive up readership and it would take the fight directly to them. They couldn’t hide behind their moderators and anti-ID agenda. They would be exposed.

I know someone would gladly volunteer for such an undertaking. He writes, you (UD) edit and post.

It was a very good presentation but he lost points saying Szostak was lying. This was unnecessary as his claims of the terrible state of OOL theory are clearly enough.

LoL! @ Bill- It was theatrics. You saw him walk it back just after he said it.
