Sorry for implying that Byers is a young earth creationist. I misread his comment above.Mapou

timothya: Does any ID proponent here want to support Robert’s claim that Noah’s children were riding around on the backs of dinosaurs? First off, it is a young-earth creationist pronouncement that has nothing to do with ID because it's not part of the ID hypothesis. Second, and I say this as a Christian, the young earth hypothesis is complete nonsense, something that some unenlightened Christians have been preaching for centuries. So now, it has become ingrained in their doctrine and they consider their private understanding or interpretation of the Bible to be infallible. They cannot admit that they could be wrong. That's idolatry, in my opinion, because they are worshiping both a book (the Bible) and their own wisdom. The Bible is not infallible; only God is. Sorry, I always tell it like I see it. Third, how do I know that people like Byers are not atheist plants, whose purpose is to paint critics of evolution in a bad light? Judging by their lack of ethics, I would not put it past them.Mapou

Robert Byers asserted this:
These creatures were alive while Noah was alive.

Here we go again with the cambrian. YEC says there was no cambrian or any divisions of earth history. These layered fossils/strata were laid by the biblical flood in segregated flows during the flood and squeezed into stone by the same pressure that collected them. These creatures were alive while Noah was alive. To iD and evolutionists however this is a contention over complexity and its place in time. Would ID and evolutionists at least agree with YEC that WITHOUT the geological claims there would be no biological insights as to complexity/time.?? Therefore if the geology was wrong the biology would be wrong for both of you!! tHerefore this is not a contention about biiological science but in reality just anout contending hypothesis on biology without scientific investigation. if the geology was shown to be wrong both of you would say your biological musings were excellent and its not your fault if the geology was wrong and so the musings wrong. I say if accuracy/error here is based on geology them the discussions over the cambrian can not claim to be biological research discussions. Instead they are conclusions from mere data points of biology frozen in stone. No processes are being researched at all. So no biology research is going on here. Even if true the Cambrian is case in point of why evolutionary biology/and some criticism of it , are not biologically scientifically studied subjects. A fallacy of logic is going on here boys!!Robert Byers

Very beautiful and well narrated by master narrator Attenborough. Just ignore all the nonsense Darwinian explanations and you'll enjoy it. It is obvious, to me at least, that a long time ago, a bunch of highly advanced lifeform designers got together and designed a bunch of stuff just for fun. Some of these brilliant designer overlords seemed to have had a special fondness for insects of all sorts. And why not? They are fun things to play with. After all, isn't it written in the book of Genesis that the Elohim (literally masters but incorrectly translated as God everywhere) created a bunch of living creatures and then looked at their entire creation before deciding that it was very good? Does this not imply that it could have been bad and that some of their previous tries were not all that good? I think so. It's probably why there is geological evidence of planet-wide extinction events. Apparently, the Elohim were not very happy with some of their earlier designs. So they destroyed them and started over. Please don't get bent out of shape over this. It's just a hypothesis. I personally don't but I realize that many of you believe that life on earth is the work of a single omniscient and perfect God. :-)Mapou
