File:A small cup of coffee.JPG Closing our religion coverage for the week with Darwin’s best-known defender Richard Dawkins again: In “With Richard Dawkins’s Descent to a Figure of Fun, Atheism Has Lost Its Champion,” David Klinghoffer perceptively writes,

They should never have set him up with a Twitter account.

From “Richard Dawkins wants to fight Islamism with erotica. Celebrity atheism has lost it”: … An accompanying photo of Dawkins is captioned, “A nice old man with monomania, probably best ignored.” When they start writing things like that about you, it’s over.

Yes, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

So two things in Dawkins’ favour: He isn’t a fan of silly political correctness. That was how he got involved in an after-the-bar-closed uproar in an elevator he wasn’t even in. Second, unlike most atheists and “skeptics,” he isn’t afraid to criticize Islam. Unfortunately, in recent weeks, it would really be better if he just put a sock in it.

See also: 1) Dawkins wants to land porn on Muslim world? 2) Dawkins yawnfest has just got to stop? There is such a thing as constructive criticism, to be sure, but one must start by respecting the other person.

(Actually, we were the ones who persuaded the guy to get a Twitter account; we would just never admit it in public. 😉 )

I cannot understand for the life of me why someone can listen to a stupid little man like Dawkins, especially when he wrote a silly blog on why some forms of pedophilia are acceptable.jeffnick365
