Closing our religion coverage for the week with Darwin’s best-known defender Richard Dawkins again: In “With Richard Dawkins’s Descent to a Figure of Fun, Atheism Has Lost Its Champion,” David Klinghoffer perceptively writes,
They should never have set him up with a Twitter account.
From “Richard Dawkins wants to fight Islamism with erotica. Celebrity atheism has lost it”: … An accompanying photo of Dawkins is captioned, “A nice old man with monomania, probably best ignored.” When they start writing things like that about you, it’s over.

Second, unlike most atheists and “skeptics,” he isn’t afraid to criticize Islam. Unfortunately, in recent weeks, it would really be better if he just put a sock in it.

(Actually, we were the ones who persuaded the guy to get a Twitter account; we would just never admit it in public. 😉 )
