What's been carefully analysed? As far as the Venus fly-trap goes, the reason for picking it is simply because it is basically a mousetrap in nature. If a mousetrap is irredicibly complex than so is a Venus fly-trap, surely.Gaz

Why the attempt to shift focus from examples of IC that have been carefully analyzed and studied to possible cases that haven't? If you don't agree with the research, how could an off-the-cuff answer to your question satisfy you?ScottAndrews

Coming from someone who doesn't allow comments on his own blogs (inlcuding the one at UD), the words "pot", "kettle" and "black" spring to mind. Given that his letter raises yet again his incredible, irreducibly complex moustrap, can Behe answer the following question: given that the Venus fly-trap is nature's equivalent of a mousetrap, and is similarly irreducibly complex, does Behe consider that the Venus fly-trap evolved or was it the product of intelligent design?Gaz

Someday crow will be served to Lehigh (among others). I hope it embarasses the hell out of them - as well it should. In the meantime, Mike Behe will remain firmly ensconced on my Christmas card list.Upright BiPed
